Hola amigos de esta comunidad, esta es mi participando en este concurso donde debemos responder a la pregunta ¿Por qué me gusta @discovery-it ?, atendiendo la invitación realizada por @oscurity.
Creo que el nombre de Discovery-it , tiene que ver con aquello que nos gusta hacer, porque en la medida que publicamos vamos descubriendo habilidades y una de las mías, es observar la naturaleza y capturar con las fotografías esas maravillas.
Me inicié en temas de la naturaleza relacionados con mi trabajo. Amo a las plantas y con el tiempo que he dedicado a estudiarlas las veo como lo que son, seres vivos asombrosos y a través de mis publicaciones he querido transmitir esas ideas. Cuando salgo o aún en mi casa tomo fotografías que me ayudan a mostrarlas.... saben que una imagen puede decir más que mil palabras.
En las áreas verdes cerca de la residencias donde vivo, estoy pendiente de lo que me rodea y siempre consigo algo que me llama la atención. En estos días tome fotografías de estas flores del árbol de cepillo y de las de Ixora un arbusto, son hermosas y frecuentemente allí están tambien los insectos que se alimentan de ellas.
Los insectos son otra de mis pasiones y es que sus colores y formas son muy llamativos e interesantes. Mis hijas se ríen de mi cuando me ven buscando el teléfono para fotografiarlos y cuando les pido ayuda...pero ellas ya sienten también esa admiración y corren a tomar fotografías a algún pequeño pero hermoso insecto. Acá algunas de las fotos que hemos tomado en estos días.
Así que nos hemos convertido en cazadoras de insectos capturándolos a través de la fotografía. Es una actividad que me encanta, busco información sobre ellos, si no los conozco, a que orden pertenecen y su alimentación. Por ejemplo estos insectos son del orden Coleópteros que se caracterizan por sus alas superiores muy duras. Algunos se alimentan de plantas pero otros son carnívoros y se sabe a cuál grupo pertenecen por su aparato bucal que es chupador si se alimentan de la savia de las plantas o si tienen mandíbulas fuertes, se alimentan de otros insectos.
Miren este gusano que llaman medidor porque cuando camina parece que estuviera midiendo el terreno, lo encontré en la lechuga de la cual se alimenta.
Y acá les muestro algunos especies capturadas solo a través de la fotografía.

Hello friends of this community, this is my participation in this contest where we must answer the question Why do I like Discovery-it?
I think the name Discovery-it , has to do with what we like to do, because as we publish we discover skills and one of mine, is to observe nature and capture with photographs those wonders.
I started in nature topics related to my work. I love plants and with the time I have dedicated to study them I see them as what they are, wonderful living beings and through my publications I have wanted to transmit these ideas. When I go out or even at home I take photographs that help me to show these wonders.... know that a picture can say more than a thousand words.
When I go to the garden of the residences where I live, I am aware of what surrounds me and I always get something that catches my attention. These days I took pictures of these brush tree flowers and Ixora, a shrub, they are beautiful and often there are also insects that feed on them.
Insects are another of my passions and their colors and shapes are very striking and interesting. My daughters laugh at me when they see me looking for the phone to photograph them and when I ask them for help...but they also feel that admiration and run to take pictures of some small but beautiful insect. Here are some of the pictures we have taken these days.
So we have become insect hunters capturing them through photography. It is an activity that I love, I look for information about them, if I don't know them, what order they belong to and what they feed on. For example, these insects belong to the order Coleoptera, which are characterized by their very hard upper wings. Some feed on plants but others are carnivorous and you can tell which group they belong to by their mouthparts which are sucking if they feed on sap or if they have strong jaws, they feed on other insects.
Look at this worm that they call meter because when it walks it looks like it is measuring the ground, I found it in the lettuce on which it feeds.
And here I show you some species captured only through photography.
