The atmosphere seemed divided in that corridor. A festive tone accompanied the athletes returning from their sporting event, a more somber one was reflected in the teary eyes of some passengers who appeared to be family, wearing the dark clothes of those in mourning.

But in the center, where there seemed to be more movement, there was a particularly intense tension. Perhaps it was the stiff and unfriendly faces of three guys sharing seats in the same row, or the intriguing look of two ladies who crossed glances at every moment, as if waiting for something to happen.

-We will be taking off soon, follow the instructions of the attendants, and don't forget to ask for help in case you need it", was heard over the plane's loudspeakers. It was the captain's voice addressing the attendants for the second time. The first time was to introduce himself and to give some indications about the route and the airline.

The plane took off after a few minutes, and soon the people inside were able to relax a bit and chat pleasantly. All seemed to be quiet, except for one woman who claimed to have seen a cat wandering around under her seat.

-I assure you there is no cat, ma'am, try to lie down for a few moments," said the stewardess sweetly.

-I saw it with my own eyes. I am allergic to cats, please check again," insisted the lady with some desperation.

The stewardess smiled as she tried to convince her. Her manner was elegant and cordial. The passenger, on the other hand, became more and more excited.

-I want to speak to the captain! -shouted the woman, shaking a fist in the air.

-Here it is, I found it... I found the cat! -said a passenger at the front of the aisle. He threw himself on the floor with a towel and struggled a little to hold it.

The other passengers were getting up from their seats to try to look. The stewardess ran to the front of the aisle to attend to the incredible find. She couldn't believe her astonishment at such a curious event.

-I told you... I told you... I told you," the woman repeated insistently, crossing glances with the passengers around her.

The stewardess approached the man struggling with the cat, and bent down to help him. The man winked at her, and held out the empty towel.

-Did he get away? -asked the stewardess.

-No, he didn't escape," the man whispered slowly, "there's no cat. But it's the only way for that woman not to make a scandal with her fantasy. I know her, she did something similar in the airport restaurant.

The stewardess relaxed her shoulders and let out a sigh.

-Good move, sir, I appreciate it. Now hand me the towel and I'll take care of the rest.

The man wiggled a bit, feigning resistance from the feline, and handed the bundle to the attendant.

The woman walked as fast as she could down the hallway, passing the lady with the complaint, to make her believe that the matter of the cat was already resolved.

-Maybe it escaped from the cargo hold," she said as she walked past the woman.

-Thank God they caught him," cried the lady. How awful that these things happen, one would expect better service considering the cost of a ticket with this company.

The other passengers, who believed that there was indeed a cat loose inside the plane, nodded their heads and their faces showed some anger.

The captain's voice was heard again over the loudspeaker.

-We have just entered international airspace," he said.

The stewardess returned, bringing with her a service cart. She walked to the front of the aisle, and offered the man who resolved the cat issue a glass of champagne in thanks.

-Compliments of the team of assistants, sir," he said in a sweet, flirtatious tone.

The man took the glass, and his fingers matched the woman's. He took the opportunity to caress them. He took the opportunity to caress them gently. The woman blushed and responded to the man's gesture by whispering in his ear.

-Come with me to the first class cabin, there are few passengers there, and you will be more comfortable, sir.

-I'm Douglas... call me Douglas.

-I'm Cinthya.

The lady who at first had complained about the cat, interrupted them by shouting from her seat.

-Miss! Miss!

The stewardess immediately attended to her.

-What's the matter with you this time? You don't need to shout, you can call me by pressing that button," she said.

-I think that cat left hairs on my seat... or under it... or somewhere. It's choking me... it's because of the allergy," he said getting excited again.

The other passengers were beginning to get restless. "Is there a doctor on board?" -asked one passenger. The stewardess motioned for them to calm down.

-Gentlemen, please stay in your seats, this is not an emergency.

-How can you say that? It's not an emergency? -I'm starting to lose my breath! -she said, puffing out her chest and gasping for breath.

"They must do something," "What a disservice," could be heard in the plane. The whispers were loud enough for the stewardess to hear.

Douglas came up behind her and very politely said:

-Can I make a suggestion to you, Cinthya?

-Yes, of course... you can... Douglas.

Douglas: -That the lady be transferred to first class, there the cat has not entered, so she will be free of allergies. What do you think?

Cinthya was not very convinced by the idea, as it was not the most usual way to solve things during a flight, but seeing how the woman was panting in her seat, and the other passengers worried, she gave in to Douglas' suggestion.

The aisle was quiet. The flight attendant was able to resolve the conflict. Douglas received his reward for his clever way of dealing with the lady's foolishness and, the allergy lady ended up a few seats ahead of him in the first class cabin.

The stewardess, Cinthya, came around every fifteen to twenty minutes to pour him more champagne and flirt with him. After a while, the lady with the complaints also wanted to talk to him.

-Douglas, son," the woman called softly, "What time do you serve caviar?

-Shusss, don't call me that, mom... remember that we don't know each other, be patient, it will be served very soon. Lie down and get some sleep.
