Have you ever wondered how a satellite disintegrates?

The European space agency is very concerned about space debris and particularly how satellites disintegrate when entering the atmosphere, because so far the best way to eliminate a satellite that no longer serves or eliminate a remnant of space debris is to make it falls to the ground and the atmosphere takes care of incinerating it, but what if that does not happen and if it survives in pieces that can be a danger.

To answer this question, the European space agency tests materials from space satellites in a plasma tunnel that reproduces the conditions of entry into the Earth's atmosphere and what is shown above is how a satellite disintegrates.

These images also serve to understand the importance of thermal shields, if the ship in which an astronaut travels does not have a shield or it is damaged, the astronaut will be condemned to certain death, a ship enters the atmosphere at about 25,000 kilometers by hour and the shield can reach about 1,500 or 1,600 degrees Celsius.

This video above shows the shower of sparks that astronauts see from their window, specifically the images were taken on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
