Hi there, welcome back to The Best of Discovery-it! All the best posts voted by the Discovery-it curator team will have their own dedicated space within the Hive blockchain. This digest intends to bring to light all those authors who often remain unnoticed and therefore reward all those who create quality posts, leading them to establish themselves on the platform. But that's not all!
After a careful selection, our curators will also choose the most deserving articles among all those voted to create a ranking of the Top posts of the day.
So who are today's winners?

The sun and the sea in my thoughts - watercolor on paper with steps

by @armandosodano

“The sun and the sea in my thoughts” is the title of today’s beautiful watercolor by armandosodano. The artist shares with us the concept of the artwork: “It is my idea of the sun, with its rays that spread out in a space where the horizon is curved. The curvature of the horizon allows sunlight to expand, like a star explosion. I played a lot with color temperatures, warm and cold to emphasize the light”. In the post you can also appreciate some steps of the realization. Don’t miss it!

Goblins, Gremlins, Imps & Moles!!! Starting a New Creature Design

by @bryan-imhoff

Today’s artwork by bryan-imhoff represents a new creature design. “I've always pitched "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." as a mix between Lord of the Rings and Shaun of the Dead. The mob our heroes face in the first issue were always intended to be the goblins of this particular story... and this time around I wanted to keep a little closer to the traditional goblins of fantasy and mythology... of course with my own spin!” the author told us. Let’s meet this strange creature!

Tifaine #9 (Infrared Photography)

by @dawnoner

In this beautiful post you can find a shot made during a session with the model Tifaine during summer 2018. “We had a blast during that very hot summer day and it's really a pity we didn't manage to make a lightpaintign session together” the photographer said. The technique used is infrared photography, don’t miss it!

Lockdown Chronicles - Empty streets of Curacao

by @gvkanten

The author gvkanten shares with us some reflexions and some beautiful photos about the period of our first lockdown in 2020. “The drone gave me a tool to just find out what was going on. Being confined to your house for longer periods of time and only being able to look down your street doesn’t give you the full sense of what was happening” the photographer said. In the post you can also appreciate a nice video about the project. Don’t miss this great selection!
