Hello all dear Hivers and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a watercolor painting depicting a typical Italian alley.
I was struck by the colors of the seasonal fruit that a greengrocer had displayed in wooden boxes in front of his old store in a medieval archway.
I tried to give the painting a strong color contrast between the colors of watermelons, oranges, tomatoes, melons, and the softer colors of the walls and arches of the alley.
On the side of the arch of the store I also put garlics and hanging onions, as used in old fruit and vegetable stores.

Ciao a tutti cari Hivers e ben tornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido un dipinto ad acquarello che rappresenta un tipico vicolo italiano. Sono stato colpito dai colori della frutta di stagione che un fruttivendolo aveva esposto in cassette di legno davanti al suo antico negozio in un arco medievale.
Ho cercato di dare un contrasto cromatico forte al quadro tra i colori dei cocomeri, delle arance, pomodori, meloni, e i colori più tenui delle mura e degli archi del vicolo. Sul lato dell'arco della bottega ho messo anche degli agli e delle cipolle appese, come si usa nei vecchi negozi di frutta e verdura.
