Prickly pears - two different ways of representation
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog.
Today I share with you two watercolor works that represent the characteristic prickly pears in two different ways of painting them.
Prickly pears are very tasty summer fruits and incredibly sweet. The thing that not everyone knows is that it is also possible to eat the leaves of these fruits, properly cleaned and grilled. So I decided to represent their leaves, wonderful subjects with typically summer colors and shadows.
In the first watercolor I painted a white hibiscus in the middle of the leaves, for chromatic contrast with the dark greens of the leaves of the prickly pears.

This subject is much more realistic than the second one I will present, the details are more defined and described with thin brushes.
The second watercolor is much freer and more pictorial, I gave a lot of importance to the great shadows and colored lights of the prickly pears, without going into the details.
What interested me was the composition of light and shadow with few details.
Two different ways of seeing the same subject, I hope you liked them.

Fichi d'india - due differenti modi di rappresentazione
Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido con voi due lavori ad acquarello che rappresentano i caratteristici fichi d'India in due diversi modi di dipingerli.
I fichi d'India sono dei frutti estivi molto gustosi e di una dolcezza incredibile. La cosa che non tutti sanno è che di questi frutti è possibile mangiare anche le foglie, opportunamente pulite e cotte alla piastra. Ho deciso quindi di rappresentare le loro foglie, dei soggetti meravigliosi con i colori e le ombre tipicamente estivi.
Nel primo acquarello ho dipinto nel mezzo delle foglie un ibiscus bianco, per contrasto cromatico con i verdi scuri delle foglie dei fichi d'india. Questo soggetto è molto più realistico del secondo che presenterò, i particolari sono più definiti e descritti con pennelli sottili.
Il secondo acquarello è molto più libero e pittorico, ho dato molta importanza alle grandi ombre e luci colorate dei fichi d'India, senza approfondire i particolari.
Quello che mi interessava era la composizione di luci e ombre con pochi dettagli.
Due modi diversi di vedere lo stesso soggetto, spero che vi siano piaciuti.
