The first sentence is just a trick used to distract the person from the context of the second sentence where the problem is. 😆
You can always specify a number in between two different numbers. For example, between 0.00 and 0.02, you can insert 0.01, among others. Between 0.00 and 0.01, you can insert 0.005. Between 0.00 and 0.005, you can insert 0.0025. This goes on and on ad infinitum. However, infinity is NOT a number, so you can't answer a non-number to a question asking for a quantity or amount.
