Most times, they like to put younger people on track and share their knowledge with them, to serve as lessons that will be instrumental to their life journeys. Our parents in this case already automatically feel saddled with that responsibility since they gave birth to us. We can’t even deny the fact that they are very wise and intelligent. There have been numerous issues I have faced and didn’t know how to solve them, until I contact my parents. I ask them for advice and opinions on most things, we all do that. **May God bless them and keep them around to enjoy the fruits of their labor** However, parents always think that every single thing they say is the right thing and they can never be wrong. If you try to tell them otherwise, you’ll be tagged a nag or a disobedient child. If you decide to take some decisions without consulting them, they will protest and have a thing or two to say about it. It is even worse if it doesn’t go according to your plan, they will automatically decide that it could have been a success if you had consulted them. The crazy thing is that it might actually be true, and it might not be, really. Nigerian parents can even be so funny, especially our mothers. I can’t buy it less than #3,500! (Sound familiar?) Meanwhile, they might not be aware of the kind of brand and anything other thing that made the price up to that. You will just be silent, squeeze your face and enter your room in frustration😂 ___ Actually, my parents have been right a million times and have helped me greatly in my life. It’s their teachings and guidance that have shaped me to be who I am today. There was this time I was in primary school and I was offered a nice goodies by my classmate. My parents have always warned me against collecting things that are not mine, so I told her I didn’t want. The next day, she was reported to the school principal that she stole some money at home. Before she was dealt with, she was told to bring out the people she spent the money with and they were severely punished. I escaped the punishment! ___ **THIS TIME, MY MOM WAS WRONG** ___ This particular time was in 2020, and I was into this business that actually earned me so much money. I have always wished to have a physical store for my business. Actually, I am aiming at owning a mall in the future. So, we were at home because of the pandemic, although, I could travel at this particular time because it was in the last quarter of the year. An agent sent me a video of this store at a very nice location around the school area and I was interested in renting it. I told my mom I needed to travel to school and also told her about my plans of renting the store and stocking it up with goods. She first said okay, but later had to sit me down and tell me to hold on with my plans. She said this wasn’t the time to set up a physical store. I needed to focus on my studies, and the store wouldn’t allow me to. She said I would have to stay at the store most times and might be missing me my lectures and that even if I employ someone, they might be stealing my goods and all that. She said a lot of things that actually made sense, but I tried to convince her. I told her I didn’t need to be on standby at all times at the store, that having a physical store will actually keep the brand registered in people’s minds. Honestly, I tried my best to let her see the good side of it but she didn’t. At the end of the day, the business I was doing collapsed about a month or two months later and I lost almost all my money to it. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/aGgnqxZUzeUAAAAC/sad.gif) I was actually really sad because I know that the physical store would have been the perfect backup plan for me and would have saved me when the crises struck.
