Exactly one week before her scheduled wedding date, Annette's engagement ended. Despite her state of disappointment, she decided not to waste the food she had already bought to entertain her guests at the reception.
On her guest lists were prominent members of the ruling party and business tycoons. Now that her wedding has been called off, Annette has to change the celebration plan. She took the gifting platform and revamped her guest list, inviting the residents, local dwellers, and homeless to feast.
That evening was the best time of her life. She did so well that the press or media houses were invited to cover the event. No one knew what her game plan was until the middle of the August celebrations with natives and homeless locals.
Michael, the supposed fiance of Annette had come to town on transfer as the site engineer of the newly constructed fourth mainland bridge. That evening at the Oriental hotels and Towers, she found the ever glowing Annette who is the eye of every man. Average in height, blue eyeballs and necessary contours that a woman should possess were in the right places.
Michael himself was a fine dude. The exchange of pleasantries went smoothly as the duo continued to meet frequently.
Their meeting at the restaurant became frequent as Michael was find of her. She enjoys his company too. Annette had never dated any guy since she traveled down to the country eighteen months ago.
Now that Michael appeared out of the blue, she will stick with him. She had needed a manly touch after all the months and she wasn't ready to go of the handsome dude.
Before long, Michael saw the need to settle down with Annette in this part of town. He wanted to get married to her before dawn. Annette who is half-caste was not bothered about the traditional African stuff that precedes the wedding. The two lovebirds have agreed to tie the knot at Ikoyi Marriage Registry.
Unfortunately, the planning had to stop abruptly. Michael had been married with kids at the other end of town. As a successful engineer, he feels he would have his way, maintaining two homes.

She found out through the secretary in her office who told her she knew Michael from the other part of town. Annette could not believe her eyes when she had to trail him to the luxury edifice where he abode with his family. He has a beautiful wife. Why would he want to destroy her life?
Annette was grateful she found out before the registry is signed.
It was a big feast. A lot of souvenirs was distributed to guests and Annette moved on with her life.
A failed courtship is better than a failed marriage she presumed. Deception is everywhere. Even the one that appears like an angel could be here to backstab you.
