Last week I was all about Girl Power, and what happened when you left those Girls in power.
This week I will show you what that empowerment caused many of these girls to talk about sex baby. And how they changed from conservative eighties babes, into nineties nuking hot bombshells.
The 80s were very conservative just think about Reagan and the Iron Lady, nobody thinks about sex when they see Miss Thatcher or maybe there is a secret fetish I don't know about.
But having a conservative period, caused a backlash and that happened in the 90s.
The 1990s represented a reaction against this conservatism, with more liberal attitudes towards sex and sexuality becoming mainstream.
So soon we will see the same happening after this era of new prudishness, political correctness, and weird woke desires.
Not sure what changed but where the 80s were pretty clean it took till the 90s to figure out that sex sells especially if it was in your title. Because these guys are really not hot until they say sex you up.
Now we are gonna talk about sex, about birds and bees, about doing it, sucking it, licking it and much more...so if that is not your cup of spunk...get the FUNK OUT!
We were openly encouraged to have a cocktail....
Not just the boys were looking for it the girls were in as well. Guess this third wave of feminism caused that because the ladies embraced sexual liberation and sought to reclaim female sexuality.
This triggered them to express their sexuality openly and challenged traditional norms around sex. Or at least they like always wanted to talk about it.
Fortunately, there were also girls wanting to do it
And they were very clear about what they wanted
And how they wanted it:
And when those two got together many guys could not hold it....
This whole 90s sex thing was underlined with too many subliminal messages
Now sometimes they donΒ΄t work out as expected
Or you need to ignore some parts and only hear the good stuff.
Then we have the subliminal experts.
And some that just were a tad more explicit.
Oops guess you have to move to YT to see what I am talking about.
Even quality bands like Nine Inch Nails joined the sex party!
Which is btw one B side I never forget.
There was this band The Quierboys and their single Hey You had this as a b-side. Now I can swear this B-side is the most played B-side in my collection:
It was all about Pussy (Control)
Now those 90s did a real 180 on the whole sex thing.
And Prince did the reverse thing being a contrarian, where he begged his Darling Nikki in the 80s it got so bad in the nineties that the dirtiest man in pop music asked for Pussy control!
Of course, MTV added a lot when it comes to the transmission of sexual songs the bigger the controversy the more viewers.
Two sides to everybody...ehh story
In Europe, we had one band focussing specifically on Euro sex trash-dance
The prominence of sex in 1990s media was the result of a confluence of cultural liberalization, advancements in media and technology, strategic marketing, and evolving social attitudes towards sexuality. This decade marked a significant shift in how sex was portrayed and discussed in the public sphere, leading to a more open and, at times, provocative cultural landscape.
Now all this nineties sex stuff in my perception was also fed by the reduced fear of AIDS. That virus made sex a dirty word in the late 80s but throughout the nineties, it became less relevant and awareness increased through education about sex. This helped remove some of the stigma and taboo surrounding the topic, thanks to videos like this:
Which of course created an opposite effect, because if you tell teens to wait till they are married .....they will take your word for it.
But itΒ΄s still more comprehensible than this piece of Dadvice:
