Doing music comes with a lot of sacrifices, which we make as instrumentalists. Imagine and instrumentalist who does a lot of rehearsals at home without putting it into practice somewhere where people can see and probably give a review about how they played, and then you will be able to work on yourself so that you can be developed and get better. But when you eventually decide to do this, you must be able to sacrifice your time to do more rehearsing work because the world is expecting more from you anyway anyhow.
Like I do say, music is not just something we do to entice ourselves or to make ourselves happy; we do it to please those that listen to it and also to make them happy because music in a man's life is very important. There is no way, you will listen to a pleasant music and get worried or bored with it. That is why constant rehearsals are advised. Some things brought about my writing this post, and what is it?
Sometimes ago, I was playing in a place where I was not known, but then I was rehearsing so well but had no place to showcase my talent. Most people see me as a random musician, but I see myself as a good musician, whereas I am supposed to go out to show myself out there to people. At some point, I started going out with some of my friends to play, and I saw that what I had learned was not enough because the dimensions of the songs they sang there meant I could not fit into them, and then I realized I was still supposed to go back home to train myself more.
After that day, I got some revive from some of my friends. We were there together, and they gave me some points where I still need to improve on. Without any further arguments, I agreed to all that they said, and I decided to work more on them even when I knew I was not going to do everything at once because it's a gradual learning process. I still find time to work on those things to show that I want to be a better person.
After some time, we went out for a program again, which I was to play as well. The program started, and we did what we knew how to do best. To my greatest surprise, I saw some of my friends laughing at me while I was playing, and I was a bit surprised to see why they were laughing when they were supposed to cover my lapses. When I stopped playing, I went to them immediately to hear what they had to say. Immediately after I got there, they burst into laughter again and said they were happy with how far I had gone with rehearsals, and my mind was at ease.
Definitely, what I did and the corrections I took with me have helped me when I was not even sure I had improved. It was a great thing of joy to me also knowing that I played what the audience loved, and that is why music is fun because you might be entertaining yourself, and it's a noise to those listening to it. That's why, as a musician, you must be very careful and watchful when doing music by yourself and also with others too. Music is always fun and lively when you do it with your strength and from your heart.
