Hello there. It was a beautiful sunny day despite the awful cold. This cold was definitely after my life!

I am pleased to announce that I have fully completed my treatment on the really bad cold that’s left me sleepless for nights. Bad, bad pneumonia I tell you. I have developed abs from the constant exercise (that is coughing) for hours on end. Bad weeks for me. No sleep. But that is all in the past. I did not cough at all last night and I woke up feeling refreshed. Refreshed enough to just lay back and get lost in a book.

Y’all know what time it is. It is Three Tune Tuesday!

As it goes, by our beloved @ablaze,

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

Yeah. I have enjoyed myself on these Tuesdays. Sharing my favorite tunes and listening to some from other authors. You want to know how to go about it? Just check this latest post by the man himself and support.

On to the business. What are my favorite tunes for this week?

CELINE DION ~ TO LOVE YOU MORE

Every one knows of the living legend, Celine Dion who has touched many with her music. Anyone who knows me or reads my blogs will know that I relate on a very personal level with music.

Lyrics and music speak to me, they make me create an image and they push me. If you want to deeply know me, ask me to send songs that best describe me. If you want me to really relate with you, speak to me through music.

This song is one of my personal favorites from the artist. I don’t know if it was the grace with which she carried the song or the fact that the song was definitely the heart cry of someone, that made me constantly repeat it. The song made me relive heartaches (not mine though) and touch the base of forgiveness. I don’t know. The songs message is just too deep and it doesn’t just speak romantically.

I know of a father and daughter that got separated due to the fathers’ drunken ways. She’d had enough and was taken in by her foster dad who loved her like a father should. Her real father finally went to rehab and was constantly fighting to win his daughter back but his efforts were futile because the wound was so deep. She couldn’t forgive. This man did not give up till his very last breath when he died of cancer. Even on his deathbed, he still made her understand that he does not regret fighting for her.

Sounds like fiction? It’s not. It was reality and it still astounds me.

RIHANNA ~ LIFT ME UP

I don’t know why I feel like I have shared this tune before. Could it be because I have listened to it so much, I can’t tell the difference?

Why I love this song?

One day, when this generation is passing away, my children and grandchildren will have access to my blog on here and they would listen to songs that are supposed to be dead. They would look and see the young girl that is now their mother/grandma and they would understand me a little better.

When I listen to this song, I see my future. I see beyond this miniscule moment and towards a bigger picture. I see love. Lots of it. Joy and a lot of laughter. There would be tears, maybe even some pain, but in the midst of it all, I see overcomers and a family that grows together.

I see what I couldn’t have as a young girl.

AYRA STARR ~ RUSH

And we take things up a notch! I have listened to this song so much it is what I use as I walk the street. My mind is forever active. Even a small walk up the street and it is roving, bringing the impossible to life.

The lyrics of this song is mostly in Pidgin English but it mostly talks about how grace brings the dollars rushing in. She says she isn’t focusing on hate but making money because it is her fantasy.

“Sabi girl no dey too like talk,
Animals dey in human form,
Padi man nobody like work
But you must hustle if you wan chop”

This just summarizes this,

those who know don’t make too much noise because those who hate are real. Even if I don’t like to work, I must do it or starve.

In my case, money isn’t the fantasy. The growth is. I want to be a better version of myself and I see that image always (the process of it) when I listen to this song.
