Un cordial saludo para todos los participantes de este singular concurso, muy especialmente a su respetable conductor @lanzjoseg y a todos aquellos usuarios que, de una u otra manera, colaboran para hacer realidad la ejecución de éste evento semanalmente; el cual consiste en observar una imagen fotográfica, analizarla, hacer un informe y luego publicarlo con sus conclusiones. ¡Es así de sencillo!
A cordial greeting to all the participants of this singular contest, especially to its respectable driver @lanzjoseg and to all those users who, in one way or another, collaborate to make this weekly event a reality; which consists of observing a photographic image, analyzing it, making a report and then publishing it with its conclusions. It's as simple as that!

El árbol de Navidad como todos lo conocemos, es el más emblemático y típico adorno para el decorado navideño. Es usado no sólo en nuestros hogares, también se coloca en los sitios de trabajo, como: oficinas, bancos, hospitales y consultorios, escuelas o centros educativos, estaciones de policía, de bomberos, expendios de gasolina, súper mercados, farmacias, ferreterías, y todo tipo de establecimiento comercial o público. Incluso, podemos disfrutar de su presencia adornando alguna avenida de la ciudad, hasta en un puesto de comida ambulante. Quién entra en una peluquería o barbería y ahí encuentra un árbol de Navidad. Lo he visto hasta en una funeraria. ¡Lo pueden creer!
The Christmas tree, as we all know it, is the most emblematic and typical Christmas decoration. It is used not only in our homes, it is also placed in workplaces, such as: offices, banks, hospitals and clinics, schools or educational centers, police stations, fire stations, gas stations, super markets, pharmacies, hardware stores, and all kinds of commercial or public establishments. We can even enjoy their presence adorning some avenue of the city, even in a street food stand. Who enters a hairdresser or barbershop and finds a Christmas tree there. I've even seen it in a funeral home. Can you believe it!
En épocas anteriores, se utilizaban árboles de pino o abeto, los cuales eran traídos desde Canadá o cualquier país nórdico, pero éstos solo duraban unos 30 días aproximadamente. En la actualidad, como existen varias restricciones para la conservación de los bosques naturales, la industria y el comercio han fabricado y colocado a la venta una enorme variedad de arbolitos navideños artificiales; sus características varían desde su altura, el color del follaje, la cantidad de éste follaje va de acuerdo con el precio (valor de venta). A parte de eso, también se fabrican las diferentes luces, los muchísimos y variados adornos que guindan en las ramas del árbol, cintas de colores y la tradicional estrella o un ángel que se sitúa en la punta más alta del árbol.
In former times, pine or fir trees were used, which were brought from Canada or any Nordic country, but they only lasted about 30 days. Nowadays, as there are several restrictions for the conservation of natural forests, the industry and commerce have manufactured and put on sale a huge variety of artificial Christmas trees; their characteristics vary from their height, the color of the foliage, the amount of this foliage goes according to the price (sale value). Besides that, the different lights, the many and varied ornaments that hang on the branches of the tree, colored ribbons and the traditional star or an angel that is placed on the highest point of the tree are also manufactured.
La tradición de usar este elemento decorativo en Navidad llegó desde Europa, con la conquista de los españoles a las colonias americanas. En cuanto al significado religioso, está dentro de la simbología de la Iglesia cristiana. Representa el árbol prohibido del “Jardín del Edén” del cual comieron su fruto “Adán y Eva”, creando el “pecado original”. Así nos recuerda a Nuestro Señor Jesús El Cristo, que ha venido como “mensajero” del Dios Padre Todopoderoso para la reconciliación y redimir nuestros pecados, limpiando a la humanidad de lo ocurrido en el “Paraiso”. Para otras personas representa el “árbol de la vida” (promesa ofrecida por Jesucristo) que significa la vida eterna. Y así, son muchas las interpretaciones que le confieren a este elemento navideño.
Y me agradaría poder escribir mucho más, pero debo sacar mi árbol, colocarles las luces y los adornos porque ya mañana es primero de diciembre.
The tradition of using this decorative element at Christmas came from Europe, with the Spanish conquest of the American colonies. As for the religious meaning, it is within the symbolism of the Christian Church. It represents the forbidden tree of the "Garden of Eden" from which "Adam and Eve" ate its fruit, creating the "original sin". Thus it reminds us of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who has come as a "messenger" of God the Father Almighty for reconciliation and to redeem our sins, cleansing mankind from what happened in "Paradise". For other people it represents the "tree of life" (promise offered by Jesus Christ) which means eternal life. And so, there are many interpretations given to this Christmas element.
And I would like to write much more, but I have to take my tree out, put up the lights and decorations because tomorrow is December 1st.
