En esta oportunidad se puede observar un estanque con coloridos peces “Cyprinus Carpio Koi”, los cuales son netamente ornamentales, es decir que solo sirven para decorar espacios como jardines.
Existen distintos ejemplares domésticos de Carpas que se han popularizado por todo el mundo, pero son originarios del Japón. Su habitad silvestre tan solo se adaptan en estanques, no se pueden colocar en peceras dentro de la casa debido a que su crecimiento es rápido y voluminoso (gran tamaño), siendo ese espacio muy reducido para su conservación; por ello, se colocan en una cavidad (artificial o natural) con agua a una temperatura acorde a su metabolismo; además, el pequeño estanque debe estar ubicado en el jardín, bien sea privado o en un sitio público como los parques zoológico.
Se conocen con el nombre japonés Nishikigoi, en donde su significado es “algo de hermoso colores” (nishiki). Existen muchas personas que poseen grandes colecciones muy costosas económicamente. Pueden llegar a medir hasta 120 cm con un peso de 40 kg aproximadamente, llegando a vivir entre 20 a 50 años, lo cual es mucho tiempo (por eso se recomienda el estanque). Se debe tener mucho cuidado de que no se enfermen, ya que son fáciles de contraer algunas enfermedades como la viruela de la carpa y diversos herpesvirus.
Dentro del internet, existe mucha información al respecto, así que les invito a seguir investigando acerca de este animal ornamental.
