Un cordial saludo para todos los participantes de este singular concurso, muy especialmente a su respetable conductor @lanzjoseg y a todos aquellos usuarios que, de una u otra manera, colaboran para hacer realidad la ejecución de éste evento semanalmente; que consiste en observar una imagen fotográfica, analizarla, hacer un informe y luego publicarlo con sus conclusiones. ¡Es así de sencillo!
A cordial greeting to all the participants of this singular contest, especially to its respectable driver @lanzjoseg and to all those users who, in one way or another, collaborate to make this weekly event a reality; which consists of observing a photographic image, analyzing it, making a report and then publishing it with its conclusions. It's as simple as that!

Observa – Piensa – Escribe // Observe – Think – Write
Al observar la imagen fotográfica lo primero que se viene a la mente es un hombre caucásico que ha estado haciendo trabajo de mantenimiento a las paredes: raspó la pintura vieja de la pared (detrás de él, se puede ver la pared en proceso), luego le aplicó mástique y al secarse, empezó a quitar los residuos con una lija; así quedó empapado del polvo blanco en su ropa y manos. Para protegerse utilizó sus anteojos y una funda blanca que le cubría su cabellera; además, ciertamente emocionado, se tomó una “selfie” (autofoto) mostrando el popular saludo de los “Hippie” ¡paz y amor!.
Looking at the photographic image, the first thing that comes to mind is a Caucasian man who has been doing maintenance work on the walls: he scraped the old paint off the wall (behind him, you can see the wall in process), then applied mastic and when it dried, he began to remove the residue with sandpaper; he was soaked in the white powder on his clothes and hands. To protect himself, he used his glasses and a white cover that covered his hair; also, certainly excited, he took a "selfie" (selfie) showing the popular "Hippie" greeting "peace and love"!
Pero al entrar en detalles, y tomando en cuenta la cultura general que cada quién posee, ese especial gesto manual en el cual se presentan los dedos, índice y medio separados, y el resto de los dedos unidos con la palma de la mano al frente, por lo general, significa un simple saludo de paz en ciertos países, pero en otros, es una posición ofensiva hacer ese tipo de señal. En Venezuela, por ejemplo, podría significar también, sí se mueve la mano de un lado a otro (de izquierda a derecha), en el lenguaje de señas para personas con diversidad auditiva: la “V” de Venezuela, o tal vez la “V” de la victoria; podría ser también el número dos (para pedir dos cosas) o simplemente la letra “V”. Dicho saludo tiene diversas connotaciones según la religión que se práctica o el lugar geopolítico donde se ejecute:
- En ciertas imágenes representativas de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, se le puede notar la posición de sus dedos, en donde se puede apreciar la mano derecha con sus dedos, meñique y anular, doblados tocando el pulgar, mientras que los dedos, índice y medio, están unidos y rectos, es representativo a la dualidad de Jesucristo, siendo un hombre como Dios al mismo tiempo.
- En la cultura anglosajona (Reino Unido) es un gesto ofensivo cuando se muestra con la palma hacia adentro.
- También se usa para la comunicación gestual (la misma señal pero con movimientos), como: hacer “entre comillas” (flexionando los dedos con ambas manos), el gesto de decir “te estoy viendo” (con una sola mano se apunta los ojos y luego señala al otro).
- En muchas regiones geográficas es usado comúnmente por grupos pacifistas y contraculturales. En la década de los años 60 lo popularizaron la cultura Hippie (durante la guerra de Estados Unidos contra Vietnam), que para ellos significaba: “todo chévere” o “paz y amor”. En la actualidad muchos jóvenes la usan para las redes sociales, posando en las fotos con sus amigos.
But when going into details, and taking into account the general culture that everyone has, that special manual gesture in which the index and middle fingers are separated, and the rest of the fingers joined with the palm of the hand in front, usually means a simple peace greeting in certain countries, but in others, it is an offensive position to make that kind of sign. In Venezuela, for example, it could also mean, if you move your hand from one side to the other (from left to right), in sign language for the hearing impaired: the "V" for Venezuela, or perhaps the "V" for victory; it could also be the number two (to ask for two things) or simply the letter "V". This greeting has different connotations depending on the religion practiced or the geopolitical place where it is performed:
- In certain representative images of Our Lord Jesus Christ, you can notice the position of his fingers, where you can appreciate the right hand with his fingers, little finger and ring finger, bent touching the thumb, while the index and middle fingers are united and straight, it is representative of the duality of Jesus Christ, being a man and God at the same time.
- In Anglo-Saxon culture (United Kingdom) it is an offensive gesture when it is shown with the palm facing inward.
- It is also used for gestural communication (the same signal but with movements), such as: making "quotation marks" (flexing the fingers with both hands), the gesture of saying "I'm looking at you" (with one hand pointing to the eyes and then pointing to the other).
- In many geographic regions it is commonly used by pacifist and countercultural groups. In the 1960s it was popularized by the Hippie culture (during the U.S. war against Vietnam), which for them meant: "everything cool" or "peace and love". Nowadays many young people use it for social networks, posing in photos with their friends.
Por todo lo expuesto anteriormente, se debe tener cuidado al emplear su uso en el lugar y circunstancia donde se encuentre, porque puede ser interpretado como ofensivo para los lugareños o puede ser que en vez de aceptar el saludo, le traigan dos cervezas.
For all of the above, you should be careful when using it in the place and circumstance where you are, because it may be interpreted as offensive to the locals or instead of accepting the greeting, they may bring you two beers.
En otro orden de ideas, esta imagen muy bien puede representar posiciones políticas. Si se toma en cuenta el color, que podría ser verde, azul o rojo… ¡Pero no! Es blanco como aquél eslogan de campaña política: “con los blancos se vive mejor”. Y no sólo el color, también expone el esconderse detrás de una máscara (funda blanca o pasa montaña) para ocultar su identidad ante una protesta, y se puede ver y leer con mucha claridad, que sobre la tela de la funda blanca, presenta varias frases protestantes escritas con letras negras muy pequeñas; una frase que sobresale con letras mayúsculas en color rojo, dice: “RENUNCIA YA !”
On another note, this image could very well represent political positions. If we take into account the color, which could be green, blue or red... But no! It is white like that political campaign slogan: "white people live better with white people". And not only the color, it also exposes the hiding behind a mask (white cover or mountain pass) to hide his identity before a protest, and it can be seen and read very clearly, that on the fabric of the white cover, presents several protestant phrases written in very small black letters; a sentence that stands out in capital letters in red, says: "RESIGN NOW !"
Cada individuo que forma parte de una comunidad, sin importar su cultura socioeconómica y política, tan sólo desea vivir en sana paz y armonía con la naturaleza, con su entorno familiar y comunitario; respetando las leyes establecidas constitucionalmente, las cuales le permitan desarrollar una existencia agradable que cubra todas sus necesidades básicas, usando valores no represivos pero justos: donde prevalezca la justicia, la bonanza y la paz. Las protestas del “bravo pueblo”, por lo general no buscan poder político, tan sólo desean el cambio de normas económicas establecidas que desfavorecen su calidad de vida y crean erogación de sus bienes y servicios, dañando el confort y la estabilidad moral de todo un pueblo. Todo ello, provoca disputas, crea conflictos separatistas porque sus contrarios no quieren poseer un “poder” menos autoritario que ofrezca mayor libertad condicionada a leyes favorecedoras del ideal común. La inconformidad de quién protesta, pone en “tela de juicio” el punto de vista de sus contrarios que no permiten avanzar hacia una satisfactoria solución a todos los problemas...
Every individual who is part of a community, regardless of their socioeconomic and political culture, only wishes to live in healthy peace and harmony with nature, with their family and community environment; respecting the constitutionally established laws, which allow them to develop a pleasant existence that covers all their basic needs, using non-repressive but fair values: where justice, prosperity and peace prevail. The protests of the "brave people", generally do not seek political power, they only want the change of established economic norms that disfavor their quality of life and create disbursement of their goods and services, damaging the comfort and moral stability of an entire people. All this provokes disputes, creates separatist conflicts because their opponents do not want to have a less authoritarian "power" that offers greater freedom conditioned to laws favoring the common ideal. The nonconformity of the one who protests, puts in "question" the point of view of his opponents who do not allow to advance towards a satisfactory solution to all the problems…
Ok! Para quién sea el mensaje (con letras rojas en mayúscula), si está haciendo mal su trabajo, creando caos social, económico y político, debería de marcharse por donde vino…
