Sé lo que representa para muchos el arbolito de navidad -paz, amor, Niño Jesús, Santa Claus, unión familiar, felicidad, fiesta…-. Algunos pretenden olvidar lo que sucede en el mundo en esta temporada y sacan de donde no tienen para aparentar abundancia. Mientras, un porcentaje considerable de la población mundial sufre, y para ellos, el arbolito de navidad o un pesebre, no significan nada.
He leÃdo cada una de las entradas a este encuentro, todas ellas, bellas historias -algunas reales, sentidas, otras imaginarias y superficiales…-. Observando detalladamente la imagen propuesta por @topfivefamily, propiedad de @lanzjoseg, podemos inferir por el tamaño del árbol y la tela roja que se detalla detrás de él, que fue calculado colocarlo allà más que un signo de la navidad, un sÃmbolo de manipulación comercial y marketing, que a su vez empodera la importancia del Centro Comercial o ClÃnica. La forma de cono te conduce a lo alto, como banderÃn, al Servicio Laboratorio, a la izquierda y derecha -aprecio-.
Después de darle varias vueltas, ampliar la imagen para detallar más a fondo y continuar con mi escrito, no pretendo ser El Grinch, que viene aquà a descargarse con un manuscrito que no es cónsono con la mayorÃa; pero, la edad y la experiencia nos hace ver las cosas de un modo diferente; quizá más realista -objetivo-. Y no es que haya tenido una complicada infancia; mi niñez estuvo impregnada de mágicas experiencias. Siempre esperaba impacientemente, llegará noviembre para ver el arbolito de navidad iluminar la sala de la casa, y hasta asistÃamos a Misa de Aguinaldo, que por aquel entonces eran a las tres de la madrugada; luego a las cinco y ahora no sé si aún las hacen.
En casa, el arbolito de navidad marcaba el inicio de una temporada de multicolores. HacÃamos más de quinientas hallacas y unas doscientas se compartÃan con los vecinos. En estos tiempos eso no es posible en mi querido paÃs natal. Hoy me encuentro en Canadá y aquà las cosas son totalmente diferentes. Mi hijo Matthew disfruta de la nieve, le gusta reproducir a Frosty y junto a la chimenea montamos un arbusto fresco que a él le encanta decorar con multitud de luces, a mÃ, es el aroma que impregna a la casa. Matthew tiene siete años y la inocencia de la temporada es sagrada. Los adornos tÃpicos de temporada incluyen decoraciones con luces brillantes, coronas de Navidad, árboles de Navidad decorados con bolas y cintas, y figuras de Papá Noel, también es común ver decoraciones con motivos invernales como copos de nieve, renos…
La Navidad, no se trata solo de regalos y decoraciones, sino también es una época para reflexionar sobre el significado de la vida y para ayudar a aquellos que lo necesitan. Al enfocarnos en lo que realmente importa en la Navidad, podemos evitar caer en el espejismo de la comercialización y celebrar la verdadera esencia de esta festividad.

I know what the Christmas tree represents for many people -peace, love, Baby Jesus, Father Christmas, family togetherness, happiness, celebration…-. Some pretend to forget what is happening in the world during this season and take from where they don't have in order to appear abundant. Meanwhile, a considerable percentage of the world's population suffers, and for them, a Christmas tree or a nativity scene means nothing.
I have read each of the entries to this meeting, all of them beautiful stories -some real, heartfelt, others imaginary and superficial…-. Looking closely at the image proposed by @topfivefamily, owned by @lanzjoseg, we can infer from the size of the tree and the red cloth detailing behind it, that it was calculated to place it there more than a sign of Christmas, a symbol of commercial manipulation and marketing, which in turn empowers the importance of the Mall or Clinic. The cone shape leads you to the top, as a pennant, to the Laboratory Service, to the left and right -appreciation-.
After some thought, enlarging the image to go into more detail and continuing with my writing, I don't pretend to be The Grinch, who comes here to unload with a manuscript that is not in line with the majority; but, age and experience makes us see things in a different way; perhaps more realistically -objectively-. And it's not that I had a complicated childhood; my childhood was steeped in magical experiences. I always waited impatiently for November to arrive to see the Christmas tree light up the living room, and we even went to Aguinaldos Religious Services, which at that time was at three in the morning, then at five in the morning, and now I don't know if they still do it.
At home, the Christmas tree marked the beginning of a multicoloured season. We made more than five hundred hallacas and about two hundred were shared with neighbours. Nowadays, that is not possible in my beloved home country. Today I am in Canada and things are totally different here. My son Matthew enjoys the snow, he likes to play Frosty and by the fireplace we set up a fresh bush that he loves to decorate with a multitude of lights, to me, it is the scent that permeates the house. Matthew is seven years old and the innocence of the season is sacred. Typical seasonal decorations include decorations with sparkling lights, Christmas wreaths, Christmas trees decorated with baubles and ribbons, and Father Christmas figures, but it's also common to see decorations with winter motifs such as snowflakes, reindeer...
Christmas is not just about presents and decorations, it is also a time to reflect on the meaning of life and to help those in need. By focusing on what really matters at Christmas, we can avoid falling into the mirage of commercialisation and celebrate the true essence of this holiday.
