Land 1-1-3: The city slums

🤼 Overview, odds & stats

5-star cards can make things happen. Nothing to fist pump over, but they definitely give you options. Your odds of pulling any 5-star are 24% or about 1 in 4. There are six 5-star combos, so this exact NFT's odds are roughly 1 in 24.

PopFansPeopleWealthWealth perAvg base demand

Wealth per city citizen = (Fans + People) / Wealth
Avg base demand = (People * 0.01) + (Fans * 0.55)

🤔 Interpretation

See 3 stars (max) in any stat means you're cooking with gas. In this NFT's case, your population is huge. A million citizens! The downside is that these million people all share 10 arbitrary Wealth units.

However, even with the crummy fan rating, there's still a base of 2,500 Fans. 18 of the 27 other land combos have fewer base Fans. If it were me, I'd be focusing on upgrades that boost:

  • Fan % of Population
  • Odds that Fans get to shows first
  • Odds that Fans attend shows
  • % of Wealth Fans spend at shows

Low Wealth means the number of buildings (upgrades) will be limited for this land. So I'd prioritize the above idea before taking up room with things that boost Population, or even Wealth (but Wealth upgrades might be good too, so there will be mathing to do once the rubber hits the road).

🕹️ Strategies

1️⃣ Nurture the Fanbase to improve passive income. As noted above, this NFT has a big Fan count, owed simply to its huge Population. Don't get too distracted by the People—Fans spend 50% of their Wealth at shows, and People spend 10%. So cater to your wrestling niche here!

2️⃣ Sell it? The choice to sell gets murkier with 5-stars. Yes, odds are in your favor to flip to a higher star land, but the price for a pack vs. floor for these cards also needs to be considered, and that will surely change over time. Floor is $21 at time of writing, but volume is quite low and there's tons of supply that hasn't been unleashed.

3️⃣ Go all in on Population boosts. It's possible that you could do the opposite of Strategy #1 and continue to boost Population. It's possible that this path may end up creating more Fans, or perhaps the game will have other perks involving shows with high attendance. My gut says that catering to wrestling Fans (in the wrestling themed game...) will net out better, but I don't have a crystal ball. 🔮😜

🏝️ Land characterization

A huge population that has low wealth—this card represents the city underbelly or the decaying urban sprawl of an ailing metropolis. It ain't pretty, but people scratch out a living. There's certainly a market for entertainment though, and you'll be damned if you don't fill it.

WOO skews a normal distribution to make high-stat land harder to pull (makes sense, right?) The most common pull is a 6-star land, with 7 different ways the stars could be configured.
