Diaries of a Fluffy Rican: Taking a moment to honor NY favorite car

One of the my car's that I've ever owned, was a 91 Ford Festival. Though it was probably my mechanics least favorite car. Every repair required sort of creativity.

I was coming back from a trip, here in Colorado, and I spotted this Festiva in a parking lot.

At that moment I couldn't pull over, and look at it like I wanted. Though I made a mental note to return.

Finally I got the opportunity to return to lot where the car was located.

So many memories were tied to the ownership of this car. It was sad day when I finally had to retire mine.

I remembering the day I had to upgrade the tires. It was impossible to find the 12" wheels that came with it.

In fact mine originally came with a low profile 12" wheels. In the front.

I remember my friend struggling to remove the tires. Till this day I believe that the tires it came with, were from a tractor or something.

My first three Festivas only cost me $400 each, though I sold two of them for $1,600 each. I had found a niche on eBay, and was taking advantage of it.

I was able to get over 200,000 miles from it, at 35/45 mpg. I loved that car. Though now I've grown accustomed to luxuries like power steering, powered windows, and even air conditioning. Yet I still found myself wondering if I could buy this car.

An interesting note about this car. Though it held a Ford title, the serial information on the body if the car said Kia Motors.

Do you have a car that revives fond memories, whenever you encounter it on the road? Let me know in the comments. God bless. :)
