It is another moment for the splinterland battle mage challenge where you get to showcase your battle formation and strategy in defeating your opponent, the mage is one good challenge that do give users more boost in battle, this week we have the up close and personal rule set as out theme for the week, this rule set allow users to use only melee monster cards in battle. This is one kind of battle users can lose easily if not play well, I noticed the easy way your opponent might counter and put you at a disadvantage is by using just just 3 abilities, thorn which deal -2 damage back to any melee attacker and most things people always use this earth summoner with thorn ability, Demoralize which reduce melee attack by 1, most times I do love using 2-3 monster card with demoralize ability especially if I pick the death element and lastly is the Shield ability just to reduce the attack receive from any melee cards.

Combining this there abilities together in a battle can disastrous at times. Let check out a battle I had with lucastingian in a 44 mana capped battle with the Unprotected which remove armour from all cards and also the upclose and personal ruleset. we could pick from any element except fire and death element. Since death element wasn't available, I had to pick up earth element next but I couldn't use all this 3 abilities in here so I decided to twerk it a little bit by picking a gladiator instead. So I picked Nectar Queen as my frontline, been a while I actually use this particular card even though it is one of the strongest melee card in stats and also with the flying ability, I supported it with Orc sergeant with the reach ability, choosing a gladiator, I picked Quora Towershead with double attack, both melee and magic cards, also with the bloodlust and healing ability, since this card cant attack from that position due to the melee, it can also attack with the magic cards and been in the middle give it more chance to stand strong in battle.

Sandworm stood next to it with the sneak ability and lastly is the harvester just to take any sneak attack if possible, seeing what my opponent brought on board made me laugh a little bit, even though he came with a summoner that reduce melee attack by 1 and still use a demoralize card, only 2 out of this 6 cards can attack, the frontline and the one with the reach ability, reducing my attack by 2 almost gave him some advantage over me until quora came to the frontline position and did some magic to boost my chance. It was really worth winning. What do you see to it, having a double attack card in your upclose and personal rule set.
