Morality and decline of human values

It is long since I wrote a post about society in general. I did want to write about the atrocities of dowry and the related crimes in my state but before that I thought I would write about what I felt after watching a few celebrity you tube channels.

One lazy afternoon, I logged in to YouTube and a celebrity's channel sprung up in my recommended list and I decided to watch it. I won't name the person. I do not like to gossip and spread slander, anyway.

The video was okay and the lady talked about her family. I noticed that her daughters also had separate channels and were quite good. Recently however, the girls took to wearing revealing dresses and showing off just to garner views.

Okay, you might say that it is their wish and there is nothing wrong in wearing such dresses but as one person pointed out and that I remember often is that only those persons who have nothing else to show will reveal their bodies to attract others.

So, in this case, I guess it is exacly that. When young people who are celebrities have no academic acheivements or other goals except to 'land roles in movies', then such videos are epected.

I may be looked upon as old and aunty type but trust me, I have no interest in preaching. It is just my experience in life that is making me want to point this out.

Morality comes and grows and wearing skimpy clothes and standing out in the crowd will only be remembered for a moment till the next one comes. If you want to be respected and remembered, then you will have to rise above the level of the ordinary human being and push yourself to be excellent.

I am not against the movie stars and do love watching movies too but tell me, is not Julie Andrews or Audrey Hepburn more dear to viewers than present day female actors who appear in a movie or two and flaunt themselves as celebrities?

It is your work that makes you excellent rather than body show.

Role of parents

Parenting is a huge responsibility and care should be taken to educate the children about the vices of the world and not behave in an irresponsible manner. Whether you are the child of a celebrity or an ordinary person, you should be wise enough not to waste money and also behave respectfully towards others in the society and as you all know, celebrity tantrums are a thing and even glorified by magazines.

The pandemic has been an awakening call and I am sure all people might now have realised that remaining healthy, sane and wise is top priority rather than being selfish or the center of attention.

Poverty and decline of human values

Wealth is a necessity and it is wise to save funds but it should not mean that one is oblivious to the rest of the clan. We live in a society and it is our duty to help each other out.

Poverty is on the increase and crypto could be the answer to eradicating it. If only, the governments were willing to recognise it and help the common people, then we would come out of this era without much of an impact on the economy and make it a better place for our future generations.

There are great things left for us to achieve and let our time not be wasted in watching a few celebrities flaunt their wealth and act irresponsibly.

Okay, fun is needed

We watch YouTube for fun. I can understand that but there are many more ways to have real fun. You can play outside or inside with your siblings or friends or you can have a get together with loved ones and the like.

Maybe I am too preachy but take it as the ramblings of a lady who has seen better days.
