THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

For the past few weeks, I have been thinking deeply about the concept of freedom and patriotism, and how it applies to my sphere. How realistic are these ideas given the current situation of things in my country?

In the past couple of years, this oppressor regime has restricted certain liberties the Nigerian people once enjoyed. Coupled with the economic hardish, it is evident that the government is against the people.

The other day I watched a clip where people were struggling for packs of noodles in a dirty lake. The water was so black and dirty it made my skin crawl. A pack of noodles is just $6. This is the reality of thousands of people.

I think about the chances of these poor people having a better life but the truth is many cannot get themselves out of that situation and it is not their fault. They've found themselves in a system that was designed to keep them subdued.

Even with the few luxuries I enjoy, I still find myself trapped in this supposed hell-hole. The other day during my discussion with @mistaliki, it dawned on us that crypto has played a crucial role in our liberation from this corrupt system.

However, this oppression system still tries to find ways to handicap you. It is a never-ending battle and the only way I think we the people have a chance against the government and institution is to create and build our wealth.

The other day I wrote about choosing your battles and knowing what is important. This post sums it. For me, I must gain economic leverage and pull as many people as I can out of poverty.

Like I have said in the past, it is never about getting rich but creating a sphere where lack is abolished. A lot of people just need to have enough and that's enough for the change I want to see.

It is unfortunate that not so many people will take the chance to be free. They are not willing to pay the price for freedom. Maybe it's because many have a false notion that freedom is free.

There is a price to pay for all the liberties we enjoy and it is costly. Some people had to pay with their lives so I can enjoy the luxuries I enjoy today as a black man.

In conclusion, I want to use this little platform I have thanks to hive, to help as many people as I can get out of the place of want. I think this is more empowering than demanding things from an authoritarian government.
