Recently got a job-- I have mentioned this in a previous post. This is my very first official job (I am interning). I haven't had a traditional job in a long time and it feels very awkward.
I woke up early at around 6 a.m this morning to prepare for work. By 7 a.m I was done and ready to hit the road. Lagos is notorious for its traffic and I did not want to be late for my very first day of work.
Well to my greatest surprise the road was relatively free. I got to my office around 8 a.m. My resumption time is 9 a.m. None of my colleagues had resumed. I spent the few minutes I had to gather and thoughts and prepare for the task ahead.
Work turned out to be fun today. It was more fun than work to be honest. I was nervous at first. Well not really because I had met my colleagues last week so I knew what to expect. However, I did consider the work ahead and the expectations they had of me.
I thought my day was going to be filled with a lot of writing, criticing and editing but we spent most of the time discussing. I had one of my directors join in on our conversation. He is interested in cryptocurrency--most of my directors are fortunate.
From my few conversations with my directors--met just two--they are both interested in cryptocurrency and have encouraged me to keep exploring the crypto sphere. Hopefully, I will find a way to get our organization to use the hive blockchain.
I and my colleagues also talked about other things like the state of the country, spirituality, etc. We also had some time to come up with ideas to promote the organizations and the projects we will be working on.
This is the type of challenge I have always wondered about as a creative--something I can build from the ground up with amazing people.
So currently we are a team of four. Our major core is to promote cottage businesses (businesses run from home) in Nigeria(Africa). I am looking forward to exploring my creativity in this new endeavour. Never thought I would ever say this, but I think I might just enjoy working here.
Anyway, I am back home after a stressful journey. Would spend the rest of my day catching up on things here on hive. Cheers!
