Trample ability, How it works? Splinterlands tutorial post

trample.png

Greetings my fellow splinterlands players!

Its been only 6 days since the current season has started in splinterlands and there's already bloodbath going on for the leaderboards. I am currently playing in Diamond I with my acc mango-juice but seriously it is very hard now to form even 3x consecutive nowadays so for me it's a bye bye to those sweet extra decs for win multiplier. The Diamond I is currently overcrowded with both diamond and champion players who is making way to champ throu this battle. After a day or 2 the diamond leaderbaord will have much less worthy players compare to current situation, I hope :)

On the other hand, today is the 11th sps airdrop and I already collected and restaked as usual. The APR has came down under 400% but still it's over 350% and lucrative in stake in I think. I decided to go long term with SPS because as I have already told you all, SPS will the the most valuable token of splinter universe. Current price of SPS is 0.304$ which is facing a lil dip but I strongly think we will see good growth over long time span.

Now, let us move towards my weekly social challenge post. Last time, I shared about how to use opportunity monsters in battles and thanks to you all I relly got awesome feedback on that post so today I have decided to go with another important ability and how to properly use it. Today, I have thought to talk about the Trample ability.

Trample ability is dangerous. It is deadly and if you use it perfectly, you can cometimes win even in just 1st round. I first tasted the power of this ability with Giant Roc, the oldie bird, a reach melee card from fire region that costed 5 mana and has trample ability from level 6. Then I bought the max Unicorn, a 7 mana legendary reward card from Life region his possess the same ability from level 3. But nowadays, whenever it comes to use trample, Magnor always comes first in my mind.

What Trample ability does?

Monsters with trample ability will attack the enemy monster second in line if it successfully kills the first monster it attacked. That's an extra attack you are getting if rightfully played which can take down or injured the next monster heavily.

In Stampede ruleset matches, the trample ability works infinite amount of times if every time it justifies the rule of killing the enemy completely. If you can outrun your opponent, there's a great chance to end the match within the first round and bag victory for yourself.

In today's match I somewhere did the similar with a max magnor which I am about to show you now. It's not an one round finisher because only melee monsters were allowed. But I successfully killed multiple enemy with the help of trample ability.

Market

Currently there is no max magnor available on market, however, the lowest one is a level 3, costing 250$ and will provide you the needy trample ability to start with. The single ones are available from 69.9$ and will cost you 14,132.347 DEC per bcx.

Match Lineup

Battle Link: Click here

mana Cap: 29

Splinters allowed: All

Ruleset:

  • Stampede (trample ability can work multiple times).
  • Up, close and personal (only melee monsters)

Well, in this match, all splinters were allowed but I had a feeling that the opponent may use Magnor on me as well. It's very common to see magnor in stampede ruleset so I didn't overthought. I chose magnor as well and also another one with trample, the giant roc.

Now, Let me introduce all the monsters that I have used in this battle starting from first position.

image.png

MAGNOR

I used a level 4 magnor in the first position in hope to unlock the stampede ability. At max level, it has 6 melee attack, 3 speed and 15 heath followed by 4 abilities - Taunt, Enrage, Trample and Return Fire.

image.png

GIANT ROC

I chose to place giant roc at reach position. It has the same ability so I get more chances to unlock the stampede ability by having 2 trample monsters. I have a level 10 and it has 3 melee attack, 5 speed and 6 health. It has also 3 abilities - flying, reach and trample.

image.png

FLAME MONKEY

I chose flame monkey in the thirst position to speed up all my monsters by +1. that increases the chance of my magnor to attack first. I used a level 10 and it has 1 melee attack, 5 speed and 3 health with 2 abilities - repair and swift.

image.png

BATTERING RAM

I used battering ram at fourth position It is a high speed attacker and will attack the monster with lowest health, or the taunt monster if the opponent is using any. I have a level 10 and it has 2 melee attack, 5 speed and 3 health along with 2 abilities - shatter and opportunity.

image.png

SERPENTINE SPY

I used the serpentine spy in fifth position. It also has very high speed and high melee attack as well with opportunity so it will launch its attack sooner than my enemies.

SERPENTINE SOLDIER

Having only 5 mana left, I thought serpentine soldier will be the best choice to cover the rear side of my line up. Moreover, if opponent uses sneak monsters, its Armour can be repaired by flame monkey so that's definitely a plus point.

Match result

image.png

Well, my opponent didn't use a magnor so that's a relief for me soon after the match got revealed. My opponent used a max Mech goblin instead which is very powerful and possess a giant amount of shield on him. He also used 2 opportunity monster on me, the spy and the parasitic growth, both max level. He used the dwarf at reach position, the chicken at third place and the serp soldier at the rear most position as well just like me.

At the first round, as my opponent didn't use any speed agents, my spy attacked first and killed his chicken. Then the opponent's spy attack my magnor and unlocked his enrage ability which was actually beneficial for me. My magnor afterwards attacked the mech goblin with his enraged stats and removed his entire Armour with 1 blow. The battering ram killed the enemy spy in the first round as well.

At second round, the real game started as the mech was shield less and my magnor was on enraged status. After my spy attack the steal the Armour of that dwarf, my magnor started his killing spree. At first, it killed the mech and moved forward to that grumpy dwarf and killed him as well, them again moved to the parasitic growth and killed him as well and lastly attacked the soldier and snatched the shield from him and got dead with his thorns. But all this got done alone by magnor, the hero of this match!

Afterwards, it was only the serp soldier that was alive on the other side but my remaining melee monsters were enough for him. At the beginning of the third round, the spy hinted him down And I scored another win with this great match!

Throu this post and the battle, I hope I was successful to show you the importance of trample ability. You can also try your own imagination and put your monsters in different strategies and situation and I am sure you ll get out with amazing results.

Thanks for visiting.

Stay well and keep playing Splinterlands.
