Manchurian Candidate [My Favorite LOLitician] [The simplest president I have ever seen]

Things are looking blurry these days. I was not going to the eye specialist due to indolence, so last Friday I along with my wife went to an eye adept. We have many resemblances and dissimilarity between us. Another point added with the dissimilitude. I see less near objects and in the case of my wife it is the opposite. However, then we went into a store to buy clothes where there was 60% sale due to corona virus pandemic. It was ten o'clock in the evening, but my wife's shopping was not over yet. Like others, my wife's biggest enemy is my mobile; her idea is that my love for mobile is extensively more than her. So I had to shirk her and look at the voice chat section from time to time. From there I realized that the @bdcommunity is going to organize another contest on the topic BDCommunity Presents: Weekly Writing Contest [Week-1]

I am surprised to think of myself because I am the Chancellor of Dhaka University! In 1961 I passed the secondary school exam with the third division. I passed Intermediate and was also with one subject referred. When I came to get admitted in Dhaka University, my qualifications didn’t even support to buy the admission form. When I could not get admission here, I got admitted in Gurudayal College in my district by the grace of Dayal Guru! However, due to the anti-Ayub movement, I would often come to Dhaka and spend the night in different halls. There is no hall in which I had not entered or stayed, but I had never entered Rokeya Hall!! This is really a game of God, I am coming here today as the Chancellor of the university to which I could not be admitted!!!

By now everyone must have comprehended who I was talking about. He is none other than the current President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid. He was speaking above words at a convocation of Dhaka University in Bangla and I made the transition. He was born in 1944 in a small village called Kamalpur in Mithamain upazila of Kishoreganj district. He has never been good at studying since childhood. He somehow ratified the village primary school and later got admitted in the high school. And SSC and HSC history was heard from his speech at the convocation of Dhaka University.

There are many interesting facts about his passing B.A. While studying at Gurudayal College, he was not able to pass B.A exam at all. Relatives and neighbors started talking and making fun of him. Then, after much notion, he came up with an idea. Then the anti-Ayub movement was in peak. One day he got up to address a public meeting in front of thousands of people and said that he would not pass B.A exam until he could unseat Ayub Khan through agitation. Since then, no one has asked him about B.A exam. This information was also disclosed by him in a convocation. Later he passed B.A exam but managed the বিয়ে (marriage) before that.

When it came to nuptial, he mentioned that he loves his wife very much. However, he did not stop joking about his wife though. People used to visit his house because of his involvement in politics. So his wife had to make tea for the leaders and workers all the time and serve it. In this context, he said jokingly at a public meeting in Kishoreganj-

আমার কপালটা ভালো, বউডা আমার বাইট্টা। যদি বেশি লম্বা-টম্বা হইত, তাইলে মনে হয় চা বানাইতে বানাইতে কোমরডা বাঁকা হইয়া যাইতো।

In addition to his studies, he was actively involved in student politics. He was for some time the Vice President of Gurudayal College and Mymensingh District Chhatra League. Later he became involved in the active politics of the Awami League. He was elected the youngest MP from Mymensingh 18 seat in the general election of 1970. Abdul Hamid is so popular in his constituency that he has been elected MP six times. Later, when the Awami League came to power, he served as the Speaker of the parliament. He later made history for Bangladesh by being elected President of the state twice in a row.

However, his political path was not very smooth. He had been imprisoned many times by Ayub Khan for political reasons.

Usually the presidents of a country take the stage and make wise and serious speeches which are not very popular among the students. But in the case of President Abdul Hamid, it is the the opposite. During his tenure as Speaker, the Bangladesh Parliament passed a bill of anti-violence against women. He then called Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and requested that a bill against male abuse be passed in Parliament! In this connection he further added that Priyanka Chopra was supposed to visit Bangabhaban when she visited Bangladesh on the Rohingya issue. But his wife forbade the Prime Minister over phone so that Priyanka Chopra would not visit Bangabhaban and meet the President. The president finds his wife's conspiracy here!!!

In the end, I would like to say that although our President always talks jokingly, but through this humor, he highlights various inconsistencies in the society. Although he is the president of a party, he still tries, in addition to written statements, to point out some inconsistencies that often go against his party. In a democratic country like Bangladesh, the presidency is just a post which is a lot like a puppet. Yet his speech about the inconsistencies is definitely deserves the praise. So, Abdul Hamid is the politician who I like.

I am tagging @mustavi to participate this contest.

Thanks.
