Before we begin, we would like to wish everyone good health and a prosperous future. A third of the blessed and holy month of Ramadan has already passed, and soon Muslims all around the world will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, a time of joy and celebration. However, for many people living in poverty in Bangladesh, Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of difficulty and struggle. While we Muslims adorn ourselves with new clothes and indulge in the most delightful dishes, for many, this remains out of reach.
For poor and lower-middle-class families in Bangladesh, especially those in villages and slums, Ramadan and Eid can be challenging due to financial constraints. Fasting and celebrating with limited resources can be both physically and emotionally difficult, and seeing those who are more fortunate celebrate Eid gorgeously can only inflict more distress. Some organizations try to help by providing food and clothing donations, iftar meals, and Eid gifts to support those in need during these occasions.
This year, like them, we too have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of at least a few, even if it is only for a minute. By donating to our Eid-ul-Fitr fundraising campaign, you can help us provide essential supplies to those who need them the most.
This year, we have taken the initiative to support at least 40 different families with some of the necessary elements required on Eid day.
