Nice creamy, pea milk.
Yesterday I published my vegan cake for the @plantpower community's birthday. In that cake, I used pea milk and made it sour using vinegar.
The link for the cake is here

But here I would like to share this milk recipe for those who might be wondering what is pea milk and how it can be made.
Hello, friends, vegan lovers, and community this is my new experiment for making vegan pea milk. Yes, you read correctly PEA MILK is 100% vegan. More proteins than almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk. good for health, A good source of plant-based protein
Full of nutrients – iron, calcium, and potassium
Rich in vitamins A and D
Low calorie, yet still rich and creamy
Pea milk is one of the closest plant-based alternatives to cow's milk. Pea milk may be good for people with nut or soy allergies.
I was thinking about making a vegan cake for the #plantpower community's birthday cake and checking some alternatives for milk or buttermilk and researching about buttermilk which is perfect for my cake which needs instant buttermilk.
Making pea milk at home easiest, simplest, healthy 100%vegan.
Ingredients;
1/2 cup split chickpeas/channa-dal
1 cup water
If you want sweet milk add dates or cane sugar according to your choice.
Clean and wash the split peas.
and adding water soaked them the whole night.
.
Drain the water and Uut them in the mixer jar.
Add 1 cup of water to it.
Blend it until fine smooth paste/slurry.
Strain it using a strainer.
you can add more water to make it thinner.
If you want to use it for cakes or cookies. better keep this consistency.
In 1 cup of milk, I use 1 tbsp white vinegar to make it curdle or like buttermilk. Which I used in my vegan cake. and saved 1 cup for the next recipe it can be good until 1 week in the refrigerator.
From the 1/2 cup split peas, you get 2 cups thick milk or 3 cups of
normal consistency.
if you add some sweeteners and some healthy oils you can drink it like normal dairy milk. Can be very good to make curd also.
