Hello dear friends, I hope you are feeling very well on this Saturday, cordial greetings to the Jewelry community that always opens its doors to so many users who share their amazing creations and to me in particular to continue improving my skills. For this week's Splinterlands contest, I want to enter a wooden carved necklace using Frigid Wolf as a character, a powerful, ferocious wolf who threatens a big bite. I made this detail using mahogany wood and carving instruments. Here I briefly tell you step by step how I did it.
Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien en este día de sábado, saludos cordiales a la comunidad de Jewelry que siempre abre sus puertas a tantos usuarios quienes comparten sus asombrosas creaciones y a mi particularmente seguir mejorando mis habilidades. Para el concurso de Splinterlands de esta semana, quiero concursar con un collar tallado den madera utilizando como personaje a Frigid Wolf, un poderoso lobo muy feroz quien amenaza con una gran mordida. Hice este detalle utilizando madera de caoba y los instrumentos para tallar. Aquí les comento brevemente paso a paso como lo hice.

I made a cut of wood with a size of 6 centimeters by 3.5 centimeters, which I then cut in half to leave it a little thinner and on top of it I made the silhouette of a wolf, then inside the silhouette I made the shapes which has the face of a wolf as if it were a tribal logo. To work the wood and the carving I used a stationery cutter and a carpentry chisel.
Hice un corte de madera de un tamaño de 6 centímetros pór 3,5 centímetros, la cual luego corte a la mitad para dejarla un poco más fina y encima de ella hice la silueta de un lobo, luego al interior de la silueta hice las formas que tiene el rostro de un lobo como si fuera un logo tribal. Para trabajar la madera y el tallado utilicé un cúter de papelería y un formón de carpintería.

The beginning of the work was to start removing the wood at the top of the head, as there were some traces of part of the wolf's fur it was a little difficult, so I used the small knife to remove this part and also on the side places of his ears. You can see how that part turned out and where you can see the first shapes of the figure.
El principio del trabajo fue comenzar a retirar la madera en la parte superior de la cabeza, como habían unos trazos de parte del pelaje del lobo fue un poco difícil, así que usé la navaja pequeña para quitar esta parte y así también por los lugares laterales de sus orejas. Se puede ver como quedó esa parte y donde puede apreciarse las primeras formas de la figura.

Next, I carved the lower part of the head with the knife and also shaped the snout of the big bad wolf. Another important step was to make the small cuts that indicate the presence of hair around the face. They were very small parts so I had a lot of patience and concentration to be able to achieve it. I think this is the most complicated part of carving small pieces but at the same time the most beautiful. I did this until I completed the entire silhouette design.
Seguidamente fui tallando con la navaja por la parte inferior de la cabeza y darle forma también al hocico del lobo feroz. Otro paso in portante fue hacer los pequeños cortes que indican la prencia de pelo alrededor del rostro. Eran partes desmasiado pequeñas por lo que tuve mucha paciencia y concentración para poder lograrlo. Creo que esta es la parte más complicada de tallar piezas pequeñas pero a la vez lo más hermoso. Así hice hasta completar todo el diseño de la silueta.

Next I did the most complicated step, even more than the previous one, I made the wolf's expression lines, including its terrifying eyes, all with a tribal design shape and style. Then I begin to make the cuts with the small knife and to remove the wood with a pointed piece of iron, thus little by little I remove the remains. When completing all these steps and cutting everything, using a piece of sandpaper I polish and remove all impurities from the wood.
Después hice el paso más complicado, incluso más que el anterior, hice las líneas de expresión del lobo, incluyendo sus aterradores ojos, todo con una forma y estilo de diseño tribal. Luego comienzo a hacer los cortes con la navaja pequeña y para retirar la madera con una pieza de hierro puntiaguda, así poco a poco voy sacando los restos. Al completar todos etsos pasos y cortar todo, utilizando un trozo de papel de lija voy puliendo y quitando todas las impurezas de la madera.

Finally, the most important step for all the wooden pieces that I make, and that is to give it a bath of protective varnish, I always apply two or three baths depending on the wood, and sanding the wood between each bath until I feel that it is smooth. Then I put the necklace on it and that's how it is finished.
Por útlimo el paso más importante para todas las piezas de madera que realizo, y es darle un baño de barniz protector, siempre aplico dos o tres baños dependiendo de la madera, y lijando la madera entre cada baño hasta sentir que ha quedado lisa. Después le coloco el collar y así queda finalizado.
What did you think of the result? I think it remained as an earring that represents the indigenous culture and its beliefs, that was my goal, whenever I choose a card, beyond the technique used by me, I always want to leave imprinted what I think about many things, it is a way to leave my own thinking. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? creo que quedó como un pendiente que representa a la cultura indígena y sus creencias, ese era mi objetivo, siempre que elijo una carta, más allá de la técnica usada por mi, siempre quiero dejar impreso lo que pienso sobre muchas cosas, es una forma de dejar mi propio pensamiento.
