WARHAMMER 40k - The Aeldari... or Eldar for us old-school boys.

Source

Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town South Africa. Coming to you with ANOTHER Warhammer 40,000 lore post. I am slowly going through all the base lore and then will build forward into the limits of mine and it will probably change as I get caught up on all the new lore that I do not yet know about!

Even so, I have probably hundreds and hundreds of things to talk about in the hobby in the lore and then in the game itself.

So let's get into it! I have been speaking about the Imperium of Man with their Astra Militarum and the Space Marines, I also dealt with the Chaos Gods as well as the Orks.

Like the Orks, being nearly fantasy Orks in space, the Aeldari or "Eldar" as I knew them, are basically Space Elves.

Craftworld Aeldari or Asuryani

So in this post we will deal with the 'good' Eldar or Aeldari. These are also now known as the "Asuryani" meaning that they are the followers of Asuryan. This is a term that my old-school memories does recognise as one of their main Gods of the Eldar Pantheon but also that Asuryan is dead.

The race of the Aeldari are meant to be extremely advanced up to the point where every member of their race is like nobility. The Asuryani left the capitol of the Aeldari before the Fall, which I will get into in another post.

Safe to say, these Aeldari recognized the unhealthy habits of their race and decided to leave in order to become purer. They escaped the initial collapse of their Galaxy-spanning empire.

They did, however, suffer. Against ever-increasing odds, the Craftworld Aeldari have managed to survive but they are seen as a dwindling race.

Playing as the Asuryani

To play an Eldar force in 40k is to play an army with a lot of units with each having their own area of expertise. When used in a certain battle role, that unit often performs as one of the best units in the game.

Unfortunately, the hassle with that concept is that some of their units only work in cartain situations and that other options are limited.

However, for good commanders, the use of different squads in different situations is normal. With Asuryani however, the need for putting units in exactly the correct situation is essential for victory!

I hopw to be seeing the Aeldari on the battlefield!

Until then...

Cheers!
