WARHAMMER 40k - Space Marine Chaplains! I have two of them, one of them is (in)famous!

Welcome all my friends on Hive and the Tabletop/DND Community. Today I would like to quickly highlight what Space Marine Chaplains are all about and how this relates to MY collection.

Chaplains - Crazy Super Human Warrior Priests!

These guys come with a lot of flavour as they tend to be different depending on their background and the culture of the Space Marine Chapter they belong to but all Chaplains are religious leaders who inspire soldiers to great feats of strength and resilience in battle while also tending to the psychological needs of their Battle Brothers.

A Chaplain wears a Death Mask which serves a dual purpose: One, it looks terrifying to the enemy! And Two: It helps to remind the super-human Space Marines that they are, indeed, mortal and capable of death. Thus stops them from becoming too arrogant!

They always wields a Crozuis Arcanum which is a special badge of office that is also a blunt-trauma weapon used to whack their foes.

Another relic common across Chaplains is a Rosarius which grants the wearer a force field that goes well with that "faith" element.

Chaplains also always wear Black armor!

Beyond that, as I said, there is a lot of flavor, for instance:

  • Space Wolves have a Wolf Priest which doubles up as a healer.
  • Blood Angels have Chaplains who specialize in leading those who succumb to their curse - the Black Rage.
  • Mortifactors have Chaplains who can spirit walk and scout the battlefield.
  • The Dark Angels have Interrogator Chaplains.

Chaplains make up an alternative for a close-combat Space Marine hero other than fielding a Captain.

There are many special Chaplains with character names and profiles that are unique in the game, which brings me to my two that I own!

Both of these are Dark Angel Chaplains. The one on the left is Interrigator Chaplain Asmodai!

Basically, this guy is so scary, he tortures people and mostly, people would rather die than let him get hold of them!

Here is some Asmodai Artwork:

I look forward to painting both of them soon!... and finding this guy's lost arm. lol

Cheers!
