Warhammer 40k - Building Custodes Wardens - Axe Captain/Unit Leader and Vexilla!

Good day everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town South Africa and this is another Warhammer 40k build post!

A bit over a week ago I was given a box of Custodes Wardens to build by my friend @xenowolfza. For this year's Slow Grow event, he is building an Adeptus Custodes army.

He had already commissioned me to build the greater part of the army and then he would then go on to paint the miniatures. This is an add-on order and he will be doing some amazing 3D printing for me in exchange of this bit of building.

I have so far built these two chaps:

Another Shield Captain that can be fielded with either axe or spear. He could also just represent a slightly more distinguished Warden.

Wardens have the sashes in front of them.

Here is the Captain's body, nearly all buildt up.

Here he is with his head on. I have not put the weapon on him because with a bit of extra work, @xenowolfza can magnetize the haft, making it interchangeable!.

There is the back with the Captain's fancy cloak.

This is just a dry fit without glue. The socket is holding on with a pyramid shape so holds on a little bit without glue.

And here he is again with the Spear option.

So simple put, he's got a 4 in 1 model. This guy can be played as a Captain with axe, or spear or a Warden with axe or spear!

Then comes the Vexilla. He has a banner to buff the unit, but in the Warden datasheet, the banner bearer is not nerfed or limited on weapons. He can also go either axe or spear.

Together, these guys are starting to look really amazing!

Join me again soon for updates and hand over of this squad which will number a total of 5 models when completed!

Thank you for reading!
