Free RPG Day

OK so, Happy Free RPG Day!

Never heard of it? I am not surprised, as it started way back a 1000 years ago in 2019. So what's it all about? I'm glad you asked!

A small group of gaming retailers got together and wanted to hold a worldwide event to get people into stores and rolling dice. They worked with big name publishers like Wizard of the Coast, Paizo, Green Ronin, and many more to provides consumers with free exclusive printed content, mostly in form of One Shots. Now obliviously last year that was a bit of a challenge, but some stores still made it work.

Last years spoils

I managed to get a hold of one of the last things Fantasy Flight Games was ever going to publish, The Keyforge: Secerts of the Crucible adventure Maw of Abraxax for the Genesys RPG. Also that day (since they knew almost nobody had the dice need for it) they offered their dice roller app for Android and IOS free of charge. It was pretty sweet. As a side note the roller is now free, but at the time it was I think $4.99 USD (about 4.25 in euros at the time).

So grab your dice, tell some friends and head down to your favorite local game store for Free RPG Day!
