Are you a newbie on Hive?
You just found out about Hive and you think it's an amazing place to be but you have no clue on how to begin, you find it hard to navigate through the platform.
Worry no more, you've got the best tips rolling out for you to just follow and see yourself growing so well on Hive like others. Hive isn't a die hard platform where you must know a whole lot of stuffs to begin.
Hive is super easy to use for any who is zealous to work on the platform and make an impact from his or her own experiences.
I've been on the platform for more than a year, not as much as others but I do well enough how a newbie who just joined can grow and be a great blogger on Hive.
Here are my three four tips with some memes I created...
Explore and get acquainted with the platform
When I first joined Hive, I used a week to explore, joined a few communities, engaged with others and I also learnt how to set my profile well.
So as a Newbie, don't just rush to submit a post (maybe an introduction post, whatever). Make sure to explore more, ask set your profile to look more presentable (be sure to also set your post rewards to 100%) this would boost your hive power faster.
Also use this first times on Hive to get acquainted with some authors by commenting on their posts, you don't have to upvote yet since you don't have enough power.
And while you do all the exploring be sure to keep track of your resource credits as they are very important to keep up for more engagement.
Introduce yourself to Hive
The next tip is making an introduction post, this isn't just some post you write a few words about yourself and you're done. Hive is very proud when a new person joins and reading an introduction post is a thing of joy for Hive.
Imagine sharing a shabby or lacking introduction post, you may likely not get attention. So here's the tip, write about yourself to Hive like you're to a new friend.
If you know how expressive it can be when you like a person and you want them to know you, then you'll be able to do more expressions in your introduction post.
Tell Hive what you love to do, your plans and how you got to find Hive, just make sure to make it original since it's about you. While you're at that, also be sure to reply to comments on your introduction post... So many fail to do it and it isn't cool for a newbie to snub comments.
Engage and stay consistent
Yes, I'll like to say it in a more better way (to me) and that is "Become addictive to Hive". Just love and enjoy what you do on Hive. And this would also mean you won't be so bothered about the votes you get on the post, just stay consistent.
Do not try to post all the time when there's nothing to write about, leaving good and impressive comments on others posts may do you more good than the many posts.
Don't just focus on writing, make sure to invest and grow your hive power while you gather more friends and grow your hive life.
An additional secret to growing as a Newbie on Hive is getting involved with ecency. I still regret not using ecency since when I joined until the collaboration of @ecency and @dreemport where I discovered a lot of things every newbie should know.
You get ecency points for voting a post, commenting, submitting a post and getting a vote on your post... Isn't that cool? And by daily use, you get 10 points for using it too.
These points can be used to boost your posts with Hive upvotes but here is how you become a whale as a Newbie in less than a month...
Engage using ecency, gather points, you can boost a post you like (not only yours all the time) and instead of a tiny penny you'll give to a good post you read, you get to give higher votes because of your ecency points.
The thing is, Hive teaches everything you need to know and if you would follow these steps, you get closer to more information and grow as a Newbie.
- Be very mindful of community rules
- Learn about the right usage of tags
- Participate in contests that interests you
- Be original and love Hiving.
