Hola, gente linda de Hive! El día de hoy quise realizar este post para comentarles mi experiencia yendo al oftalmólogo por primera vez y comprando mis primeros lentes para ver mejor! Lo mejor de todo esto, es que pude hacerlo gracias al apoyo de esta plataforma.
Hace un par de meses estaba viendo una película en mi TV y me estaba rascando el ojo derecho a lo que solo estaba viendo por el izquierdo y me percaté de que los subtítulos de dicha película se distorsionan bastante y me costaba leer por ese ojo. Desde ahí comencé anotar una dificultad para leer de lejos.
Hello, beautiful people of Hive! Today I wanted to make this post to tell you about my experience going to the ophthalmologist for the first time and buying my first glasses to see better! The best thing about this is that I was able to do it thanks to the support of this platform.
A couple of months ago I was watching a movie on my TV and I was scratching my right eye so I was only seeing out of my left eye and I noticed that the subtitles of the movie were quite distorted and it was hard to read out of that eye. From then on I began to notice a difficulty in reading from a distance.
Tengo que añadir a este relato que yo soy una persona con mucha ansiedad, por lo que notar esto me dio miedo de que pudiese ser algo malo (mi imaginación es un tanto catastrófica) así que quise acudir a un oftalmólogo.
Yo ya había tenido miopía a los 5 años y use lentes por muy poco tiempo (no sé exactamente la razón por la cual los dejé de usar) así que esta sería la segunda vez. Gracias al apoyo que tuvieron algunos post aquí en Hive, pude agendar una cita con una muy buena oftalmóloga de mi ciudad.
I have to add to this story that I am a very anxious person, so noticing this made me afraid that it might be something bad (my imagination is somewhat catastrophic) so I wanted to see an ophthalmologist.
I had already had myopia at age 5 and wore glasses for a very short time (I don't know exactly why I stopped wearing them) so this would be the second time. Thanks to the support of some posts here on Hive, I was able to schedule an appointment with a very good ophthalmologist in my city.
Mi experiencia con esta Dra fue excelente, es muy profesional y el trato hacia mí fue mejor de lo que pude esperar. Afortunadamente en esa consulta me informó que todo estaba muy bien con la salud de mis ojos. Aunque sí tengo un poco de miopía y astigmatismo, me hizo saber que no era nada malo ni tenía ninguna causa externa, (como mi mente ya andaba imaginando) así que no tenía nada de que preocuparme en exceso, solo debía usar un par de lentes.
Así que me dirigí a una óptica donde mandé a hacer mis lentes con la fórmula que la Dra me había recetado, elegí una montura que me encantó y salí muy contenta de allí estrenando mi nuevo accesorio y herramienta visual. Aún me estoy acostumbrando pero debo decir que sí noto una gran mejoría al ver.

My experience with this Dr. was excellent, she is very professional and her treatment of me was better than I could have expected. Fortunately at that consultation she informed me that everything was fine with my eye health. Although I do have some myopia and astigmatism, she let me know that it was nothing bad and had no external cause, (as my mind was already imagining) so I had nothing to worry about excessively, I just had to wear a pair of glasses.
So I went to an optician where I had my glasses made with the formula that the doctor had prescribed, I chose a frame that I loved and I left there very happy with my new accessory and visual tool. I am still getting used to it but I must say that I do notice a great improvement in my vision.
