Pensé mucho antes de participar en este reto. Primero, porque soy el fundador y parte interesada; segundo, porque quiero cumplir con la máxima planteada por @rutablockchain en su iniciativa según la cual, este tipo de publicación jamás debe parecer contenido de relleno en tu blog o para llenar el vacío existencial que significa una idea original y tercero, porque tenía que enfocar lo que iba a escribir para separar las dos premisas precedentes del verdadero fin de la iniciativa.
I thought long and hard before participating in this challenge. First, because I am the founder and interested party; second, because I want to fulfill the maxim proposed by @rutablockchain in its initiative according to which, this kind of publication should never seem to be filling-in content in your blog or to fill the existential gap that an original idea means and third, because I had to focus what I was going to write to separate the two preceding premises from the real purpose of the initiative.
Así que nos armamos de valor para rendir homenaje a la comunidad donde hago vida la mayor parte de mi tiempo y lo primero que voy a remarcar es el milagro representado por "Full Deportes" al nacer, con todas las condiciones en contra: la de los deportes profesionales en paro por el covid-19, las escasas noticias generadas en la fuente deportiva, los pocos autores que escribían sobre deportes, en fín, una receta para el desastre, por otra serie de factores que no vamos a enumerar acá, pero que en su conjunto daban como perdedora a una comunidad de su naturaleza ¿el resultado? Ni en nuestros más íntimos sueños, nos imaginamos la receptividad que ha tenido.
So, we are getting up the courage to pay tribute to the community where I live most of my time and the first thing I'm going to highlight is the miracle represented by "Full Deportes" when I was born, with all the conditions against them: the professional sports that were unemployed because of covid-19, the scarce news generated in the sports source, the few authors that wrote about sports, in short, a recipe for disaster, because of another series of conditions that we are not going to enumerate here, but that as a whole gave as a loser a community of its nature, the result? not even in our most intimate dreams, we can imagine the receptivity that it has had.

Diariamente se postean de 2 a 5 publicaciones; pueden que no parezcan muchas, pero lo importante es el contenido de estas y créanme cuando les digo que las disfruto mucho: desde los ejercicios en vídeo de @omarcitorojas, pasando por las partidas de ajedrez de @nerdvana, las contribuciones de @acont sobre la fórmula uno, el basket de @katic-19c, los análisis futbolísticos de @nameless16 y @jossduarte, las sesudas opiniones del béisbol de @mairimg0 hasta las creativas iniciativas de @gaborockstar. Ellos y muchos otros que en este instante se me escapan, se encargan de mantener encendido el feed de nuestra comunidad.
Every day 2 to 5 publications are posted, they may not look like many, but the important thing is the content of these and believe me when I tell you that I enjoy them a lot: from the video exercises of @omarcitorojas, to the chess games of @nerdvana, the contributions of @acont about the formula one, the basketball of @katic-19c, the soccer analyses of @nameless and @jossduarte, the brainy opinions of baseball of @mairimg0 to the creative initiatives of @gaborockstar. They and many others that at this moment escape me are in charge of keeping the feed of our community on.
Al principio publicaba una vez a la semana, luego han pasado a ser dos veces -como mínimo- en vista del entusiasmo que se ha manifestado allí. Es imposible no contagiarse cuando ves a otros autores poniendo el empeño de entregar calidad a los demás Hivers. Jamás lo veré como una competencia, sino como una motivación enorme el intentar superar mi artículo anterior, con el fin que los demás autores se animen a leer y a escribir dentro de la comunidad y creo que eso, al final, es donde ha radicado el éxito de ésta.
At first it published once a week, then it has become at least twice in view of the enthusiasm that has been ignited there. It's impossible not to be infected when you see other authors putting in the effort to deliver quality to the other Hivers. I will never see it as a competition, but as a huge motivation to try to surpass my previous article in order to encourage other authors to read and write within the community and I think that, in the end, is where the success of this one has been.
Principalmente hemos escrito sobre béisbol, el deporte más seguido por mí, pero sin dudar, incluiré otros deportes según me apetezca porque de eso se trata, de la pasión que le pongas a cada escrito. Como la que demostré al escribir El jonrón número 98, mi primera contribución a la comunidad y que resaltaba lo especial del cuadrangular número 98 de Miguel Cabrera, sacado por la banda contraria de su mano y que lo convertía en el inmortal más grande de la historia en sacar jonrones de ese tipo.
We have mainly written about baseball, which is the sport I follow most often, but I will certainly include other sports as I feel like it, because that is what it is all about, the passion you put into each piece of writing. O la contenida en la publicación: La inmortalidad de una espada, un homenaje al mejor espadachín de la historia del deporte Venezolano, a propósito de su entronización al salón mundial de la fama de ese deporte. O las reseñas de viejas glorias deportivas como en El pequeño más grande y la consistencia, un sentido homenaje a Joe Morgan y Whitey Ford, estrellas de la MLB que abandonaron este año nuestra dimensión. En fin, muchas otras que no estamos mencionando pero que han logrado capturar el espíritu originario de la comunidad.
Or the one contained in the publication: The immortality of a sword,, a tribute to the best swordsman in the history of Venezuelan sport, regarding his enthronement in the world hall of fame of that sport. Or the reviews of old sports glories as in The Little Bigger and the Consistency, a heartfelt tribute to Joe Morgan and Whitey Ford, MLB stars who have left our dimension this year. Finally, many others that we are not mentioning but that have managed to capture the original spirit of the community.
Precisamente, ese espíritu está resumido no solo en la calidad de las publicaciones que vemos en el feed de ésta comunidad, sino en la cantidad de personas que los curadores de la misma, han ayudado a mejorar en sus contenidos. Ellos son el testimonio de una labor incansable pero gratificante. jamás será lo mismo tener un papel pasivo como curador que ser parte de la solución en muchas publicaciones que esperan un espaldarazo, para que el estímulo y la motivación sean el acicate, al continuar la labor de entregar contenido original y de calidad.
That spirit is summarized not only in the quality of the publications we see in this community's feed, but also in the number of people that the curators of this community have helped to improve in their contents. They themselves are the testimony of a tireless but rewarding work. It will never be the same to have a passive role as a curator as to be part of the solution in many publications that are waiting for a boost, so that the stimulus and motivation are the spur to continue the work of delivering original and quality content.
¿Y como podría ser todo esto posible sin el apoyo de sponsors? Es decir ¿tiene la misma motivación alguien para continuar contribuyendo, sin el apoyo de los patrocinantes del proyecto? Si me lo preguntan a mí, simplemente no me importaría, porque nuestro camino ha estado lleno de contribuciones a #Hive, únicamente desde el amor que tenemos por escribir. Pero no será lo mismo para todas las personas y es así como @bluemist y @theycallmedan se han convertido en la otra pata de la comunidad. Una sinergia creada por autores comprometidos, un espacio que era necesario para #Hive y unos patrocinadores que no dejan de vigilar.
And how could all this be possible without the support of sponsors? In other words, does anyone have the same motivation to continue contributing, without the support of the project sponsors? If you ask me, I simply wouldn't care, because our path has been full of contributions to #Hive, only from the love we have for writing. But it won't be the same for everyone and that's how @bluemist and @theycallmedan have become the other leg of the community. A synergy created by committed authors, a space that was necessary for #Hive and some sponsors who are always watching.

El martes pasado me hicieron una entrevista y me preguntaron por "Full Deportes", la entrevistadora remarcó en una interrogante: "...tú comunidad?" y tuve que responder algo que quedó asentado. Jamás he considerado a "Full Deportes" como "mi comunidad," la veo como un regalo para #Hive, un lugar que me ha brindado mucho más de lo que esperé de él. ¿Cómo una comunidad puede ser de alguien? La comunidad ¡Es de todos quienes la conforman! Una sola persona jamás es una comunidad. Por su propia naturaleza, la propiedad de una comunidad es de todos quienes hacen vida allí. Así debe ser y mi mayor aspiración será preparar a alguien que me trascienda cuando me haya ido de esta dimensión. Es el mejor legado que le dejaremos a #Hive.
Last Tuesday I was interviewed and asked about "Full Deportes", the interviewer remarked in a question: "...your community?" and I had to answer something that was settled. I have never considered "Full Deportes" as my community, I see it as a gift for #Hive, a place that has given me much more than I expected from it. How can a community be from someone? The community belongs to everyone! One person is never a community. By its very nature, the ownership of a community belongs to everyone who makes life there. That is how it should be and my greatest aspiration will be to prepare someone who will transcend me when I have left this dimension. This is the best legacy we will leave to #Hive.
