¿Qué dejó en nuestros pensamientos para la reflexión, participar en el Cripto Latin Fest? Muchas cosas; sin embargo, me referiré a dos en particular por ser de orden vital para la valoración de nuestro ecosistema en el tiempo futuro. La primera de ellas es el talento bruto escondido tras las pantallas. He conseguido mucho potencial dentro de HIVE en las experiencias que, hasta ahora, me han llevado a dos países para actuar en representación de nuestra cofradía. Eso nos entrega mucha esperanza de cara al futuro.
Pero una cosa es el potencial y otra muy diferente es la forma como los Hivers están orientando sus esfuerzos. Bien encausados, podrían agregar un valor mucho más inmenso del que creía poseíamos a bordo. Y es normal que todo ese potencial se vea abrumado por las realidades propias de la juventud y el inevitable peso de las responsabilidades diarias. Quizás sea solo cuestión de tiempo antes que una auto-revisión profunda y consciente haga explotar una luz en cada corazón y cabeza que luchan dentro de nuestra cofradía. A eso apostamos.

What did participating in the Crypto Latin Fest, leave in our thoughts for reflection? Many things; however, I will refer to two in particular because they are of vital importance for the valuation of our ecosystem in the future. The first one is the raw talent hidden behind the screens. I have gained a lot of potential within HIVE in the experiences that, so far, have taken me to two countries to act on behalf of our brotherhood. That gives us a lot of hope for the future.
But the potential is one thing; how the Hivers are directing their efforts is quite another. Properly handled, they could add far more value than we thought we had on board. And it is only natural that all that potential will be overwhelmed by the realities of youth and the inevitable weight of daily responsibilities. Perhaps it is only a matter of time before a deep and conscious self-review explodes a light in every struggling heart and head within our brotherhood. That is what we are betting on.
La segunda reflexión es la inversión de parte de #Hive en éste tipo de eventos. Es posible, como lo dictan algunos detractores del plan de marketing, que los resultados no estén a la vista. Pero olvidan dos hechos: la primera está relacionada con el quehacer detrás de bambalinas; a esto se le llama "networking" y existen distintas maneras de abordarlo. Como es un trabajo al cual no se le pueden colocar baremo y tampoco tiene métricas, sólo se le puede asignar a personas de absoluta confianza, teniendo en cuenta el azar en los resultados.
El segundo hecho se encuentra relacionado con la percepción respecto a la inversión. A mi modo de ver, todavía el mundo cripto se encuentra flotando en un mercado especializado al que las masas no han querido acceder todavía, dada la brecha de aprendizaje y la narrativa de scam contra la cripto-esfera. En estos eventos es donde gente influyente que se encuentra fuera de nuestro mundo se acercan para aprender. Y no hay mejor manera para educar a esas personas que saldrán de esos eventos a evangelizar sobre las criptos y nuestra comunidad. Así las cosas, la inversión está más que justificada, más allá de los números. En todo caso es un honor anunciar que los KPI's del Cripto Latin Fest fueron superiores a lo obtenido en Perú. The second reflection is #Hive's investment in this type of event. It is possible, as some detractors of the marketing plan say, that the results are not visible. But they forget two facts: the first is related to the behind-the-scenes work; this is called "networking" and there are different ways to approach it. Since it is a job that cannot be assigned to a barometer and has no metrics, it can only be assigned to trustworthy people, taking into account the randomness of the results.
The second fact is related to the perception regarding investment. As I see it, still the crypto world is floating in a niche market that the masses have not wanted to access yet, given the learning gap and the scam narrative against the crypto-sphere. These events are where influential people outside of our world come to learn. And there is no better way to educate those people who will come out of those events to evangelize about cryptos and our community. That being the case, the investment is more than justified, beyond the numbers. In any case, it is an honor to announce that the KPIs of the Cripto Latin Fest were higher than those obtained in Peru. Ya de regreso a la lectura del feed como es debido, encontramos una diatriba armada alrededor de la decisión por algunos witnesses, de reducir el porcentaje de %APR pagado por intereses de ahorros en $HBD colocados por dueños de tokens. Antes de entregar nuestra opinión, debo dejar clara mi sorpresa ante la íngrima participación de los hispanohablantes en la discusión. Puede que no lo crea, pero la opinión de todos es importante en éste tema, más allá si lo dominan o no. Y la razón tiene que ver con que una opinión puede dar luces aún cuando no se encuentre sustentada sólidamente.
Es algo que aprendí en mis años como empresario. Con ello no estoy diciendo que tenemos por basar nuestras decisiones en ideas descabelladas, sino apelar a ver más lejos que del simple argumento, para comprender el camino de nuestras decisiones. A lo que voy: leí -entre muchas otras- la publicación del hiver @edicted y me terminó de convencer lo sospechado por nuestra experiencia. Muchas de las decisiones de quienes optaron por reducir la tasa de interés, fueron guiadas por las entrañas y no por el cerebro. Algo por comprender del mundo de las finanzas es que no se puede actuar mostrando miedo o accionando con reducciones abruptas.

Back to reading the feed properly, we found a diatribe around the decision by some witnesses to reduce the percentage of %APR paid for interest on $HBD savings placed by token owners. Before delivering our opinion, I must make clear my surprise at the negligible participation of Spanish speakers in the discussion. You may not believe it, but everyone's opinion is important on this topic, regardless of whether they master it or not. And the reason has to do with the fact that an opinion can shed light even when it is not solidly supported.
This is something I learned in my years as an entrepreneur. By this I am not saying that we have to base our decisions on crazy ideas, but to appeal to look further than the simple argument, to understand the path of our choices. My point: I read -among many others- the publication of the hiver @edicted and I was finally convinced of what I suspected from our experience. Many of the decisions of those who chose to reduce the interest rate, were guided by the gut and not the brain. One thing to understand about the world of finance is that you can't act by showing fear or acting with abrupt reductions.
Dado que cualquier proyecto puertas afuera puede verse afectado por los inversionistas, cuando no se hacen los cambios gradualmente; tuve que tomar decisiones respecto a los votos de los witnesses. Mi influencia es mínima en la gobernanza, pero no puedo avalar aquellos decididos a bajar el %APR más de un 2%. No solo porque afectan nuestros ahorros, sino porque la deuda acumulada no justifica bajar un porcentaje más alto. Si se desea tomar éste tipo de decisiones, pueden hacerlo de modo gradual (tal como se comportaría un Banco Central de cualquier país). Con ello dan tiempo para la toma de decisiones de quienes tienen sus ahorros guardados, pero ¿bajar de golpe y porrazo un 5 o 10% de las tasas? Eso es estómago, no cabeza.
Con ésta decisión quiero llamar a la conciencia de los Hivers hispanohablantes. Jamás se puede ser pasivo en los grandes temas de la cadena. Apenas he visto cuatro o cinco líderes comentar sobre la decisión de los witnesses que optaron en bajar las tasas sin siquiera despeinarse. Para obtener espacios dentro de Hive, no basta publicar y tener alto HP. Hay que opinar y dejar sentada vuestra posición sin miedos. Del disenso es que salen las mejores decisiones para nuestra comunidad propietaria. No lo olviden. Nos leemos por allí.

Since any project out of doors can be affected by investors when changes are not made gradually, I had to make decisions regarding the votes of the witnesses. My influence is minimal in governance, but I cannot endorse those determined to lower the %APR by more than 2%. Not only because it affects our savings, but because the accumulated debt does not justify lowering a higher percentage. If you want to make this type of decision, you can do it gradually (just as a Central Bank of any country would behave). This gives time for those who have their savings in savings to make decisions But to suddenly lower rates by 5 or 10%? That is stomach, not head.
With this decision I want to call the conscience of the Spanish-speaking Hivers. One can never be passive on the significant issues of the network. I have barely seen four or five leaders comment on the decision of the witnesses who opted to lower the rates without even batting an eyelid. To get spaces within Hive, it is not enough to publish and have high HP. You have to give your opinion and state your position without fear. It is from dissent that the best decisions for our proprietary community come out. Don't forget it. See you there.
