Hello everyone, it's so good to have you here today and I'm really so excited you stopped by. For the past one week now my engagement with the hive blockchain has been reducing a lot and I'm sure some persons have observed that, well it's of course not my style, hehe but then I have some things to attend to offline which are really time consuming but then I try my best to always create something for you all to read.
I traveled for an Evangelism program and also to assist my mum in taking care of some visitors at the house and yesterday we were taught about something which I'd want to share with you all today because I believe if we can get the true meaning of the message I will be sharing today, it will go a really long way in fostering unity among us as humans in general and also lead you to attaining salvation, so I will love to encourage you to pay attention to every word you read here on.
The title of the lesson is WHY DO MEN CHOOSE TO REMAIN IN DARKNESS WHEN THE LIGHT HAS COME? Interesting question right? It is because I do know some people who love to be hidden in the dark even when there is light all around them, now the big question is, do you love darkness or light? Well without further ado, let's know the meaning of the terms used in this context.
WHAT IS DARKNESS?
According to Oxford dictionary, darkness means partial or total absence of light.
Darkness also means wickedness or evil.
In this context, I will be going with the second meaning of darkness, which is wickedness or evil.
WHAT IS LIGHT?
According to the Oxford dictionary, light simply means, the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible.
Light also means the total absence of darkness.
Today we have come to see that there are different religions around us and some of us if not most of us are confused on which is the right path to go and also there are some that are totally confused that they just choose to believe that any one is as good as the other but then which ever category you are don't worry, just keep reading you might get answers.
There are different reasons why men love darkness but I will be discussing on one of them first so I can be able to carry you along and the first reason is...
BECAUSE THEY ENJOY IT
Those who are in darkness are there because they are benefitting from it and they don't want to stop it even though they see the light and the light could be this words you are reading today. We indulge in so many things that threatens our unity as humans but most especially, it threatens our SALVATION and they are listed in Galatians 5:19-21.
KJV Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are THESE ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
From the above things listed you will agree with me that these are the things we indulge in from day to day, which we actually enjoy when we are in them and these are signs that we are in darkness and most times when we are told that these things are wrong, we always tend to compare ourselves to others instead of accepting our faults and change from them. Moses in is time even agreed that there is pleasure in sin but then he stayed away because he knew what his end would be if he take part in it and you can find that in Hebrews 11:25.
From all of the works of the flesh mentioned, there is one that I notice we don't seem to take it seriously and that is HERESIES. Now the question is, what is HERESY?
Heresy in relation to the words of God is teaching something outside the teachings of Christ and his apostles according to 2 John 1:9 KJV
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
In that passage above, we can see that it is a very serious problem if one teaches something outside the teachings of Christ and if you look around you, you will see that the world is flooded with heresies and that is why people choose to accept just anything that comes to them as long as the person says he is from God.
Well, I don't want to stress your mind too much with all of these things that I've said here, there are many more but I have decided to take them bit by bit so I can carry you along in this write up.
