Saludos estimados amigos del deporte!! Anoche fuimos sorprendidos con la noticia de que el formidable bateador y futuro salón de la fama Albert Pujols ha sido dejado libre por su equipo de los Angelinos de los Angeles, equipo para el cual ha jugado los últimos 10años luego de haber firmado un impresionante contrato de 10 años por 240 millones de dólares en la temporada muerta del año 2011, luego de dejar números fuera de serie con los Cardenales de san Luis por los primeros años de su carrera, la verdad que la temporada que está teniendo con el bat el japonés Otani y la avanzada edad que tiene el dominicano hacen pensar que quizás lo más conveniente para el equipo era tener una especie de combinación entre ambos para el puesto de designado, lo que a la larga le estaba quitando oportunidades de juego al gran bateador derecho.

Esto último, precisamente pue ser la causa de su salida, pues existe una aparente molestia del jugador por la falta de tiempo de juego.

Luego de la firma con los angelinos de los ángeles en el año 2011, y a pesar de tener muy buenos números y romper todos hitos de los grandes bateadores en su tiempo con este equipo, su desempeño no se compara con lo hecho con San Luis, con un OPS+ de 108 apenas por encima de la media en estos años batallando con la edad y lesiones, solo superó los 40 homeruns una sola vez, luego de haberlo logrado 6 veces con San Luis, su promedio de bateo más alto en una temporada fue de .285, cuando venía de promediar. 328 en 11 temporadas, previas llegando a ser campeón bate. En el año 2003 con un promedio de .359.
