Este domingo 27 de Agosto la Fórmula 1 volvió a la actividad en los circuitos luego del parón veraniego, con el Gran Premio de los Países Bajos, donde más allá de una nueva victoria de Max Verstappen de la escudería RedBull, la noticia más importante es la gran competencia del español Fernando Alonso, quien se quedó bastante cerca de su victoria 33 en la categoría reina del deporte motor. Alonso fue piloto del día de la carrera y no es para menos, ya que tuvo una gran carrera, incluso por momentos atacando al holandés pero finalmente debió conformarse con el segundo lugar. Por otro lado el sábado se dio lo que fue la última carrera del campeonato regular de la serie de la copa NASCAR en el óvalo de Daytona, donde Martin Truex Jr. se quedó con el campeonato regular y Chris Buescher fue el ganador de la carrera. En NASCAR ya todo está listo para el comienzo de los playoffs pero de eso les hablaré en otra oportunidad.
En cuanto a la carrera de la F1 en Países Bajos, les puedo decir que desde mi punto de vista fue la mejor carrera de la temporada. Como se esperaba la lluvia se hizo presente y esto fue un condicionante, ya que la pista estaba inundada, incluso la calle de los boxes, lo que condicionó la carrera para muchos pilotos. Fernando Alonso, el bicampeón de la categoría reina, fue el piloto del día como les comente inicialmente, partió desde la quinta posición, se le vio bastante bien en los entrenamientos, así que había esperanza de una gran competencia asturiano. La carrera comenzó inicialmente con pista seca y con los neumáticos más blandos, pero en la pista primera vuelta apareció la lluvia, donde Alonso logró adelantar hasta la segunda posición, tras adelantar a Lando Norris, George Russell y Alexander Albon.
Al aparecer la lluvia, rápidamente varios pilotos entraron a cambiar a las llantas intermedias de lluvia, entre ellos hay que destacar a Sergio "Checo" Pérez, ya que este inicio en la séptima posición y podría tener cierta ventaja. Pero más adelante en otra de las paradas cuando volvió aparecer la lluvia con fuerza, el mexicano terminó excediendo el límite de los pit, donde se refirió a este error luego de la carrera, como un infortunio porque la calle de los boxes estaba inundada con agua, por lo cual no pudo frenar debidamente. Lamentablemente la temporada se ha vuelto cada vez más complicada para Checo, muchos errores por parte de él y de su equipo. Esto último lo mencionó ya que incluso Verstappen en su momento le llegó hacer un Undercut. Este último término se refiere cuando un piloto que va detrás de otro, entra a los pit por llantas nuevas para tratar de descontar la ventaja.
Volviendo a dar una opinión sobre la carrera, el Gran premio de Países Bajos, la carrera fue grandioso y el ingrediente principal fue la lluvia, ya que apareció desde el principio, obligando a detenerse a los pilotos por llantas para superficie mojada, donde 10 vueltas más tarde volvieron a parar por llantas de seco, lo que hizo que la clasificación y posiciones de la carrera cambiaran, los únicos que estaban seguros eran Max Verstappen y Fernando Alonso, pero sobre todo el holandés, aunque en algún momento de la carrera Max fue atacado por Fernando, pero sin suerte alguna para el español. Realmente fue una carrera maravilla que nos dejó mucho para analizar. Obviamente la pista estaba complicada, con muchos despistes en pista, autos contra los muros de contención, pero esto no mermo para nada el entretenimiento de esta carrera. Otro momento para destacar de la carrera fue cuando a falta de unas seis vueltas salió la roja debido a la gran cantidad de agua que estaba cayendo, lo que le dio una oportunidad a Alonso para luchar por la carrera con Max Verstappen.
Finalmente Max Verstappen logro una nueva victoria, la número 11 de la temporada y la novena de manera consecutiva, empatando el récord de Sebastian Vettel. El piloto de la bebida energética no deja para nadie en esta temporada, esta intratable, solamente un daño mecánico o un inconveniente en su conducción le daría una oportunidad a los otros pilotos de obtener una victoria. Por otro lado, el piloto del día Alonso logra la vuelta rápida de la carrera al hacer un tiempo de 1'13.837, superando por tan solo 52 milésimas a Verstappen. Como datos curiosos, les puedo aportar que 186 fueron los adelantamientos en esta carrera, un récord en la historia de la categoría reina, además que en una vuelta ocurrieron 63 sobrepasos, una verdadera locura y gracias a la lluvia. Una gran carrera que nunca se nos olvidará a los que amamos el deporte motor. Siento que el cualquier momento de la temporada se le dará la 33 a Fernando Alonso, la escudería Aston Martin trajo grandes mejores, luego de unas últimas carreras no tan buenas, pero todo también gracias al manejo de Alonso tanto en pista seca, como en mojada.

As for the F1 race in the Netherlands, I can tell you that from my point of view it was the best race of the season. As expected the rain was present and this was a conditioning factor, as the track was flooded, even the pit lane, which conditioned the race for many drivers. Fernando Alonso, the two-time champion of the premier class, was the driver of the day as I mentioned initially, he started from the fifth position, he looked pretty good in practice, so there was hope for a great Asturian competition. The race started initially with a dry track and with the softest tires, but on the first lap the rain appeared, where Alonso managed to overtake Lando Norris, George Russell and Alexander Albon.
When the rain appeared, several drivers quickly switched to intermediate rain tires, among them Sergio "Checo" Perez, who started in seventh position and could have some advantage. But later in another of the stops when the rain came back with force, the Mexican ended up exceeding the pit limit, where he referred to this mistake after the race, as a misfortune because the pit lane was flooded with water, so he could not brake properly. Unfortunately, the season has become more and more complicated for Checo, with many mistakes by him and his team. He mentioned this last point because Verstappen even gave him an undercut. This last term refers to when a driver who is behind another, enters the pit for new tires to try to discount the advantage.
Returning to give an opinion on the race, the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, the race was great and the main ingredient was the rain, as it appeared from the beginning, forcing the drivers to stop for wet tires, where 10 laps later they stopped again for dry tires, which made the classification and positions of the race changed, the only ones who were safe were Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, but especially the Dutchman, although at some point in the race Max was attacked by Fernando, but without any luck for the Spaniard. It really was a wonderful race that left us a lot to analyze. Obviously the track was complicated, with a lot of clumsiness on track, cars against the retaining walls, but this did not diminish at all the entertainment of this race. Another highlight of the race was when with about six laps to go the red flag came out due to the large amount of water that was falling, which gave Alonso a chance to fight for the race with Max Verstappen.
Finally Max Verstappen achieved a new victory, the 11th of the season and the ninth in a row, tying Sebastian Vettel's record. The driver of the energy drink does not leave for anyone this season, he is unbeatable, only a mechanical damage or an inconvenience in his driving would give a chance to the other drivers to get a victory. On the other hand, the driver of the day Alonso achieved the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1'13.837, beating Verstappen by only 52 thousandths. En cuanto a la carrera de NASCAR en Daytona, un gran triunfo por parte de Chris Buescher en la Coke Zero Sugar 400, siendo esta la tercero victoria de la campaña, cerrando una gran temporada regular y siendo unos de los candidatos al título en este 2023, aunque lo veo poco probable, los playoffs son otra cosa. Pero en esta carrera de súper speedway no solo estaba la pelea por ver quien se llevaba esta importante victoria, sino que también se definía el último cupo para las eliminatorias, que finalmente quedó en manos de Bubba Wallace, y también se iba saber quien sería el campeón de campeonato regular, y finalmente fue para Martin Truex Jr. Corregir que en la anterior reseña mencione que William Byron estaba al frente del campeonato regular, pero estaba en un error, ya que Byron es quien terminó con más victorias pero Truex era el líder ya que fue el más constante y quien acumuló más puntos.
Truex Jr. se quedó con este trofeo a pesar de terminar en la posición 24 en la carrera, pero en toda la temporada consistente, así que un título merecido. Pero esto no queda aquí, ya que se ganó 15 puntos extras para los playoffs, comenzando empatado con Byron en el primer lugar, con 2036 cada uno, pero este análisis se los traeré en la próxima ocasión, cuando de mi opinión sobre esta primera ronda de las eliminatorias, y quien creo que será el campeón de la serie de la copa NASCAR en este 2023, en un campeonato que está siendo bastante disputado y no hay nada claro hasta el momento.
Ahora bien para comentarles un poco de lo que fue la actividad previa a la carrera y luego el evento principal, les debo comenzar mencionado que para esta carrera en Daytona no se dio una práctica, se realizó directamente la clasificación. La pole se la quedó Chase Briscoe del equipo Stewart-Haas Racing, al hacer un mejor giro de 49.499 segundos, seguido por su compañero de equipo Aric Almirola #10, Harrison Burton #21, Bubba Wallace #23, Ty Gibbs #54, Riley Herbst #36, Kyle Larson #5, Ryan Blaney #12, Ryan Preece #41 y Kevin Harick #4, para los primeros 10 posiciones de esta clasificación. Estas son las primeras 5 líneas para el inicio de la carrera, pero hay que recordar que en esta clase de carrera la posición de salida no es tan importante, en Daytona lo primordial es cuidarse de un accidente y saber atacar en el momento indicado.
En cuanto a la carrera, tan solo se presentaron dos banderas amarillas en toda la competencia, sin tomar en cuenta las dos para cerrar los segmentos uno y dos. Destacar la de la vuelta 6 cuando se presentó el accidente grande donde quedaron involucrado doce autos, entre ellos Austin Cindric, Austin Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Harrison Burton, Ty Gibbs ,entre otros más, donde Cindric se vio obligado a abandonar la carrera. Pero el mayor sustó de la toda la competencia fue en la vuelta 157 de 160 cuando Ryan Preece en la recta posterior es tocado por Erik Jones, Preece baja inesperadamente por el contacto y se encuentra con Chase Briscoe, yéndose más tarde a la parte plana, pero lo peor fue su coche empezó a volcar en más de 10 ocasiones como mínimo. Este fue el peor accidente jamás visto en NASCAR para la última década. Los autos de NASCAR solían salir volando y volcar en la década de los 90 y a principio de los 2000, pero luego con la implementación de los coches de la última generación esto cambió, la seguridad es mayor y gracias a esto fue que Preece salió bien, aunque con algunas molestias normales luego de semejante incidente.

Finalmente la carrera terminó siendo ganada por Buescher como les he mencionado anteriormente, un piloto que tan solo lideró dos vueltas, pero entre ellas, la más importante, el último giro de la competencia que le dio el triunfo. El piloto que lideró la mayor cantidad de giros fue Chase Briscoe con 67. El total de cambios en el liderato de esta Coke Zero Sugar 400 en Daytona fue de 22 entre 17 pilotos. 2 horas, 34 Minutos y 22 Segundos fue la duración de la carrera, a pesar de tan solo haber dos banderas amarillas. El ganador del primer segmento fue Martin Truex Jr, mientras que del segundo fue Brad Keselowski. El margen de victoria entre Buescher y Keselowski quien fue segundo, fue de 8 milésimas. Una gran carrera, muy entretenida. El próximo evento es la primera carrera de la ronda de 16 de los playoffs en Darlington Raceway, el domingo 3 de Septiembre de 2023.
