Sixth Visit to Jewel's Endo and the Scary Moment at SM Seaside

Greetings to the wonderful people in the wonderful HIVE world. Hopefully, everything is doing well, especially for the parents out there. As parents, it is our very goal to have our children in good health. Doing all that we could for them to stay healthy I considered as a Mother's / parent's duty.

Today, please stay with me for a while as I will share with you our sixth visit to my daughter's Endocrinologist for her Type 1 Diabetic check-up and our unforgettable scary moment at SM Seaside.

After Six Months

I had written a blog about our fifth visit to Jewel' Endo, that was November, and I said there that once every three months, we need to have a regular visit to the doctor, but it's been six months before we were able to visit again. From November 2023 the next visit should on February, but we waited for the time when we can have enough finances for all the expenses (from round trip gasoline to meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, laboratory, Doctor's fee and others), which we opted for in May. Thankful to my sister-in-law for letting us borrow her car again.

Same schedule as the last visit, at 1 pm we should be there already at the Doctor's clinic. We slept early the night before and woke up as early as 3:00 in the morning to prepare all the things we needed. Kid's extra clothes, snacks, and Jewel's diabetes kit (insulin, insulin syringes, alcohol pads, lancets, glucose strips, and glucometer). We waited for the car from the next town. The week before the schedule, Jewel and Janneah had a countdown because they are so very excited every time we had a visit to the doctor since that is the only chance we can go to the City Super Market. That is why when I woke up to pack all the things, they also get up from bed as early as 3:45 am 😂.

My sister-in-law drove the car from their house with my mother-in-law for they will be riding with us this time. This is what made the kids more excited because they will be united with their cousin, Reu. They arrived at our house at 4:15 am and at exactly 4:30 we left home. It was still dark and Janneah was confused about why we were going to the doctor at night 😁.

Jewel, The Brave Girl

Daddy and Jewel wearing her favorite shirt every check-up 😂.

We arrived at the Hi-Precision Laboratory right 7:46 am. We went to Annex 2 where I paid for the lab fee and waited for our turn. It took only a few minutes of waiting when Jewel's name was called.

I and Jewel went to the extraction corner but Daddy followed us to see if everything was fine. Daddy help Jewel by letting her sit on his lap and holding Jewel's hand while the blood extraction was about to start. I was proud of Jewel's reaction because she did not make any violent movements or cry. I was more worried about Daddy for he was the one who felt nervous. I told him to wait outside but he insisted to hold Jewel 😁.

The extraction of blood runs so smoothly. Jewel just kept on smiling until it was done and we were so proud of our brave little warrior. She received an applause from the clinic staff there.

Going back to the parking area where Janneah, her Antiemom, her Mamala, and her cousin were waiting.

The result will be available at 1 pm, and we still have 5 hours to wait, so, we decided to go SM Seaside.

Scary Moment at SM Seaside

Traveling there was fun because the kids were so very noisy and they were excited to play there. We arrived at 9:15 am and the mall was still closed. The guard then advised us to enter the Supermarket for it was already open. But when we were already inside the supermarket waiting for the mall to open my sister-in-law felt dizzy and was very cold.

She first felt she was spinning at the time we were in the parking area but after minutes she thought she was okay then. Possibly she had high blood pressure that day.

We were so worried and almost panicked as she turned very pale while sitting. Daddy and Mamala (Grandma) did a massage on her feet and head, but her feelings did not get any better. As Mamalas was giving her daughter a massage, her very anxious face cannot be described, a mother's love for his daughter I see.

The kids were playing while waiting for my sister-in-law to get better.

We waited for minutes and the minutes turned to hours, we haven't gone inside the mall yet. We went outside the supermarket to get rid of the coldness of the air-conditioned place so that she can feel the hot of the sun. When she felt a little bit okay, we decided to go back to our way and have lunch.

The Good Thing of the Day

I cannot wait in seeing Jewel's Hba1c so I opened the online results while taking our lunch and so happy I am that it was normal.

We directly went back to Hi-Precision right after lunch to get Jewel's lab result. We got there at the Endo's clinic at 1:15 pm and waited for 10 minutes for the secretary to call us. The Doctor said that we had managed Jewel's blood sugar very well and we have to maintain it so that there will be no complications. Next to the best part (having a good Hba1c result) was that the Doctor never asked us for his fee.

Things turned out right at the end, even if we experienced scary moments earlier. In life, we will experience ups and downs, good and not-so-good things. And we need to focus on the brighter side of the day.

That is all for this blog. Thank you for the time you spent with me. See you next time. With love, mommyjane 😘.
