High school day happens every year in our school. It falls either at the end of January or the first week of February. This momentous event in our school needs a plan, cooperation, and of course budget. It's been a week we've been busy for this awaited day of ours.
Hello hive friends! What am I going to share with you today is one of the sensational events in our school that will forever be cherished for the rest of our lives.
Let me start with...
The first part of our event was the color fun run, before 4 am we should been there in our school to prepare the table for registration. At 3:48 am I was able to come into our mini gymnasium and everything was all set.
I was in charge of registration together with responsible students of Grade 12, my BAKODA (Barkada Kontra Droga) officers. Everyone was already registered during their payment however they have to register again to claim their card number to put on their chest and back. Also, they have to wear their colored rubber band as a sign that they are registered.
By 4:30 am, the Zumba had started as a stretching for the runners. Everyone enjoyed it a lot as they move and stretched their body to the rhythm of the music. It was joyful and fun as well as being with other people around. Then, a group of students splashed colored water on the runners, everybody shouts for joy and others were scared of getting wet. The countdown has started to count and as it goes to one, the runners gave their best in running. However, other runners didn't stress themselves to win instead they savor the moment together with their friends and family.
I and Ma'am Irish went to the finish line to wait for the runners to arrive. According to @callmesmile, after 10-15 minutes the runners will soon be back those who are aiming to win. Sure enough! The first runner to come was from Mandaue City. We checked his number and rubber bands if it's complete (the other one is color brown that he got from 2.5km in-charge personnel as a sign that he's already completed the 2.5 km).
The second runner came from Mandaue City also. The third one was from Daanbantayan. I was the one who can't breathe for their running skills! Maybe they have proper training with this, that's why it's just a piece of cake for them.
From the left is the winner who won the first prize of 2,000 pesos or 35.82 USD. Next, was the second winner who won 1,500 pesos or 27.40 USD, and the 3rd one got 700 pesos or 13.04 USD. Fourth to tenth place got a certificate of recognition.
The sixth to tenth place with a boy who got 11th place.

Among the runners was the gorgeous, intelligent, and famous blogger here on the hive, it's @indayclara! It's just mesmerizing that a well-known blogger came to our humble fun run. Thank you so much for coming😍.
These are the prizes for the family games
The next part of the event was family day. I was the one in charge to man this part so, I didn't go home instead, we set up the venue before everyone come. At this point, my eyes almost drop. Good thing there's Lipovitan shared from @simplechalyns for us to be energized.
We're able to start by 9 am if everything goes well. These students performed an impeccable dance presentation as their welcome dance.
In another presentation from my section, the mother and daughter serenaded the crowd with their "Tanging Yaman" song and a father of my student sang a cool one. Then, a dance presentation.
We have prepared games for them, a family game. The balloon relay, sack race, marshmallow game, longest line, and holahop relay made everybody participates together with their parents as well. It was facilitated by @ciadanmea. Grade 10 always win the game so, after three games, other groups were given a chance to win also however, they were given consolation prizes.
After the tiresome yet fun-filled activities and games, the get-together lunch builds a bond of the relationship among parents, teachers, and students. We were able to bring food for us to partake in together. Although other students didn't make it to that day due to personal reasons, however, other students showed their support and love for our team. We had so much fun eating together and chitchatting about the games. Thanks to those parents who also showed their support. Good job parents!
One of the most awaited highlights of the event was the King and Queen of IIS 2023. It's a fundraising event for the realization of the secondary school stage with this matter, we were able to send the candidates ballots for them to earn money and sl as in school. As teachers, we were able to gain money from students as pot money but as usual, we have to cover up and get money from our own pockets just to complete the needed pot money. It's alright, we have to do this for our school, we love our school so much.
King Kendrick, a Grade 7 student whose father is a barangay captain, and Queen Chathyrine, a grade 8 student and an honors student. They got the highest money during the last count which made them the winners.
Different presentations are also prepared by each grade level according to the genre. Also, first on the list are the talented teachers who owned the space with their jaw-dropping performances! As they showcase retro dance up to the modern and trending tiktok dance. Amazing!
The pinning of sashes and the giving of bouquets.
The sweet and disco dance with the royalty. They look so fascinating in their gowns and suits!
They placed in 6th runners up, Ishbel, a grade 11 student, and my candidate, Keith, who also have supportive parents. Thank you is not enough as I expressed my heartfelt thanks to them. Indeed, it was a successful one! everything goes perfectly on time and goes smoothly as we wanted.
That's all for today Hivers! Please excuse my brigada t-shirt, hehe. Thank you for reading this far. God bless!
