Join me on a thrilling escapade as I take you along with my elder sisters and beloved niece on a memorable Girls' Day Out. Our destination was none other than the enchanting Cebu Safari and Adventure Park, nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Carmen, Cebu. This is owned by Michel Lhuillier, and it is a popular wildlife sanctuary. Established in 2018, it spans over 170 hectares. The anticipation of discovering the wild beauty of this captivating safari park filled our hearts with excitement.
Setting Foot into Cebu Safari
We entered Cebu Safari with the serene symphony of nature. The safari ride took us through the vast grounds of the park, offering us a glimpse of awe-inspiring animals in their natural habitats. The knowledgeable guides shared fascinating facts about the animals, making the experience educational and entertaining. I can already feel a beating in my heart and the thrill that overflows even while I'm holding the map that the guide gave me. Though we encountered numerous enchanting creatures, there was one elusive inhabitant that remained unseen. Can you guess who it is? You'll find out later, I suppose. Let's go!
Encountering the monkeys at Cebu Safari was an absolute delight! The gibbons swung gracefully through the trees, showcasing their agility and freedom. The orangutans, though appearing tired, still commanded our admiration with their gentle presence and distant gaze.
However, the highlight was undoubtedly the last group of monkeys, their heart-shaped anal region adding a touch of quirkiness to their vibrant personalities. As they playfully interacted and relished their meal, their joy was infectious.
Interacting with the monkeys at Cebu Safari added an extra layer of excitement and connection to the animal kingdom during our visit.
As we set foot in the expansive African Savanna, we felt like we were transported to the plains of Africa. From the elegant giraffes stretching their necks towards the sky as they reached for tender leaves. These gentle giants seemed to dance to a rhythm only they understood.
Then, the serene presence of waterbucks by the shimmering watering hole captivated us. Their calm demeanor in such a vibrant ecosystem was a reminder of nature's delicate balance. Nearby, the llamas, an unexpected sight in this wild landscape, added a touch of intrigue to the scene.
And then, the zebras emerged, like living artworks painted by nature herself. Their striking black and white stripes formed a tapestry that seemed to ripple with every movement. These amazing creatures exuded a sense of unity, reminding us of the beauty that emerges when differences come together.
In the heart of the African savanna, we were humbled by the raw power of nature and the delicate harmony between its inhabitants. Each encounter left an indelible mark on our hearts, a reminder of the magnificence that exists when humans and animals coexist in the wild.
Reptile Rapture
As we explored the reptile area, we were both thrilled and slightly apprehensive. Our encounter with the snakes at Cebu Safari was both intriguing and slightly eerie. Some of them were peacefully sleeping, while others elegantly slithered around their enclosures. Learning about the different snake species and their unique characteristics was truly fascinating.
Then the sight of the crocodiles left us in awe of their sheer size and ancient presence. Watching them bask in the sun, motionless yet powerful, gave us a glimpse into their remarkable adaptations and survival strategies.
It was a peaceful and serene encounter that allowed us to appreciate the beauty of nature in its simplest form. Our time by the fish pond in Cebu Safari felt like a tranquil escape, where we could momentarily disconnect from the world and connect with the wonders of the underwater realm.
With the beauty of the exotic fish in the pond, I found myself really in love with it, especially their false-like pond.
Encountering the tiger at rest was a moment of serene beauty. Its calm presence on the side exuded a sense of tranquility, as if time had slowed down just to appreciate the majesty of this magnificent creature taking a peaceful pause.
Thus, Its powerful presence and mesmerizing gaze left us in awe. Watching the tiger in all its splendor was a moment to cherish, and we couldn't help but feel humbled by its beauty and grace.
We were compelled to be hopeful that we would get to see these magnificent animals in action as we approached the Lion's Crib. However, little did we know that the white lions, or, shall I say, the African lions, that we saw on the Safari were sleeping.
Although we missed witnessing their ferocity, the knowledgeable guides there shared with us some facts about the Lion and added an element of understanding and appreciation for the animals' habits, especially their sleeping habits, which really intrigued us. We realized that even the king of the jungle needs some restful slumber.
From the graceful flight of eagles soaring high above us to the playful antics of parrots mimicking human speech, each moment of the bird show was filled with wonder and amazement. The birds' intelligence and their strong bond with their trainers left us in awe, highlighting the remarkable capabilities of these feathered wonders.
The swans also graced the water with their vibrant colors, a mesmerizing display of nature's artistry. Watching them glide gracefully, their hues reflecting in the water, was like witnessing a living painting come to life, a true testament to the beauty that surrounds us.
As we continued our exploration, we stumbled upon a delightful spot for lunch. Enjoying a simple yet satisfying meal of fried chicken with rice and iced tea, we re-energized ourselves and shared stories of our favorite animals and memorable moments.
Our experiences at Cebu Safari reminded us of the wonders that await in the untamed world and inspired us to discover more of the wild wonders that nature has to offer.
Thus, I also realized that life's most memorable moments are like the stripes of a zebra—beautifully unique and meant to be cherished. Leaving Cebu Safari with smiles on our faces, we realized that it's not just the grandeur of the animals but the moments spent together that truly make a trip special. Our Girls' Day Out was a perfect blend of adventure, bonding, and laughter, making it a cherished memory to be cherished for years to come. The joy on my niece's face was priceless as she encountered her favorite animals in their natural habitat. As well as fulfilling our childhood wishes.
