I remember the song but I don't remember the lyrics!🎄🎶

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." - Will Ferrel, "Elf"

A wonderful greeting to the wonderful people of the Hive!

HOW ARE YOU ALL TODAY?

I hope that as of this moment you are all just fine, blessed, and in good health. Today's post is about my caroling experience way back in grade school and recently. This is also my entry for the weekly challenge of the HivePh community with the #pamasko: Caroling Experience.

Since the start of December, a lot of children have been caroling around the neighborhood. The same songs, the same group of children every other night. I felt so bored about it repeating every song every time. Don't they know other Christmas songs?😂 But anyway, they were kids, so I let them be and hand a little penny after, and they're all gone.

But then, one early evening, the sound of a guitar and drums made me feel excited to open the door wide and welcoming. At last, this is what I've been waiting for.

I was very delighted to see and hear caroling from three older people and not from grade school children😂. I was amazed by the recycled instrument (drums made from empty gallons). In my thoughts, I said these people would get a bonus from me for utilizing recycled materials as instruments (as you know, myself is a big fan of recycling!🥰).

When they started their singing, I felt joy and the positive vibes of Christmas air around me. My kids and I went out of the house and started jiving with the music. I even sang along with them, too😅🎶. A wonderful Christmas cheer for everyone to hear, I guess😂.

(I am still learning how to include a video here, so screenshot lang muna of the video of our cute dancing😂💃)

They played three "Bisaya" Christmas Songs and they were done. It was a worthwhile 5- minute caroling indeed. I enjoyed it much and so were the kids. Before they left, I shared with them a little blessing they truly deserved.🥰

As we went back inside the house, I remembered a song from the past but I forgot the exact lyrics of it. I was in sixth grade at that time when my Lolo (grandfather), and Lola (grandmother), together with their senior friends, asked me to accompany them in caroling. They chose to bring me with them because I can read clearly in the dark with a flashlight of course😂. So, I was the only youngster in the gang of grandpas and grandmas😂. In the end, I accompanied them because they're all my Lolo and Lola and most of it, they promised to give me an equal share..hahaha! (Yeah, who wouldn't want money for Christmas, especially for an 11-year-old me that time?😂)

You might wonder why the seniors needed somebody who can read clearly. Didn't they memorize it yet? YES, they did not! And to let you know, it was not an ordinary Christmas song, they called it "kantada". I don't know what's the English term but it was a song with a mix of Bisaya (a dialect in the Philippines) and Latin lyrics. I read a line from a piece of paper (a three-page song handwritten on a yellow pad) and the elders sang it imitating the lyrics I read to them. I was in the caroling team, but I did not sing the whole time😅, I only read.

I have not heard it anymore since immemorial. And I longed to hear it being sung outside my house. I could still remember the music and the tone of the song, I was humming it every time but unfortunately, I don't remember the lyrics anymore.

That's all for now my dear Hive friends! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and find some of the caroling experiences I've had related to your experience as well. Let us exalt this Holiday season through singing and cheers.

I am beyond grateful for your time, love, and support. Sharing, upvoting, and reblogging, or any of it are very much appreciated. May God bless you a thousand folds. Sending you my wonderful regards and my warm big hugs.🥰😇

Happy Holidays everyone!🎄🎉✨
