[Update#3] Community Antiabuse Discord Bot

The HiveBotPH is a discord bot that uses HiveSQL for curation related work on Hive. It's built for helping curators screen authors for upvoting and comes with some features made for antiabuse.

It started out as just a bot for hobby curation work coded by @jazzhero then went on to become a HivePH community project, and finally scaling up to spreading its use to multiple curation communities on Hive. It can even do other functions like APR calculations.

The bot uses a free server to function so there was no need to submit a proposal for Hive community to fund it. However, starting November 28, 2022 from this announcement. This news was also covered by @geekgirl with her No More Free Heroku Plans.

I'm not yet convinced that it deserves a proposal given how it's just coded for kicks and giggles. I don't know how to code and just get in contact with @jazzhero to do stuff behind the scenes. He's been a busy dev off the platform but comes through making some tweaks to the bot once in a while.

Right now, the two common reasons for the bot's downtime are using the discord js 12 (discord js 13 is the latest) and HiveSQL being down on some occasions. It's unlikely that the bot can get updated with more features anytime soon.

The plans for future development include endorsing the codes to @wittyzell to continue the project given how @jazzhero other priorities keep him from focusing on bot development. If the transition goes well, we may see more promising features to the bot. Right now, the bot is still functional as it is. I hope @wittyzell can twerk it.

As a HivePH curation bot, @hiveph's form of compensation is including the dev on the beneficiaries for the posts it publishes. This is peanuts compared to the value it brings back in our community's curation work. @hiveph will be setting aside 8 HBD per month after November 2022.

We're still looking into some alternatives like the one shared by @balaz from his Heroku is no longer free, what are the alternatives? post.

To all the curation communities the bot is in, I hope you consider supporting the @hiveph account when December comes. Since the last quarter last year up to now, I've been working on the @hiveph community to raise it's transparency efforts on the blockchain shown in our recent July Audit Report along with some community updates on how our community uses its funds.

I initially wanted to include some features to be added to the bot in the long term but refrained from making the hype as it's uncertain when those features can be added. For now, the priority is just having a plan to sustain keeping the bot available for the general Hive ecosystem.

If you made it this far reading, thank you for your time.
