HIVE Camp 2021: Zeppelinmuseum (2)
Intro
In this post the journey to the HIVE Camp on Lake Constance continues. I am still on the German side of the largest lake in Europe. The journey to Friedrichshofen turned out to be problem-free. And the museum and the port right next to it is also very well signposted. Parking in the city car park costs 3.50 euros and is only a 1-minute walk to the museum. The ticket for the museum is 12 euros and I can promise that, it's definitely worth it.
In diesem Post geht die Reise zum HIVE Camp am Bodensee weiter. Noch befinde ich mich auf der deutschen Seite des größten Sees Europas. Die Anreise nach Friedrichshofen gestaltete sich problemlos. Und auch zum Museum und dem direkt daneben liegendem Hafen ist sehr gut ausgeschilert. Parken im Stadtparkhaus kostet 3.50 Euro Pauschale und ist nur 1 Minute Fußmarsch zum Museum. Das Ticket für das Museum ist mit 12 Euro im Rahmen und so viel kann ich schon versprechen, es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Die Katastrophe von Lakehurst hat dem bis heute bekanntesten Luftschiff den Garaus gemacht. Über die technischen Details und vieles mehr kann man sich hier informieren. Im Museum sind Modelle und wie hier zu sehen auch die inneren Teile zu sehen.
A special feature is the accessible partial replica that we are now looking at. One of the two lowerable stairs leads into the ship.
Als Besonderheit gilt der begehbare Teilnachbau den wir uns nun ansehen. Auf einer der beiden herablassbaren Treppen gelangt man in das Schiff.

Some of the routes that were taken by the airships were used as wall decorations, which certainly gave rise to many discussions on the long journeys.

The spartan cabins were only a place to sleep. On the other hand, the salon, dining room and smoking room were always well filled.
Die spartanisch ausgestatteten Kabinen waren nur Aufenthaltsort fürs Schlafen. Dafür waren Salon und Esszimmer sowie Raucherraum immer gut gefüllt.

Another article follows with the construction history of the zeppelins, only then does it go on the ferry and over to the Hivian camp. But since I'm two days early, I have plenty of time and enjoy the great atmosphere in the museum.
In einem weiteren Artikel folgt die Baugeschichte der Zeppeline, erst dann geht es auf die Fähre und hinüber zum Camp der Hivianer. Da ich aber zwei Tage zu früh drann bin habe ich jede Menge Zeit und genieße die tolle Stimmung im Museum.
