Auch diese Woche gibt es von mir einen Beitrag zur 227. Ausgabe des #Beersaturday vom @detlev und da am vergangenen Wochenende „Halloween“ war, geht es in meinem Beitrag natürlich auch ein bisschen darum.
Mittlerweile wird auch bei uns in Deutschland an Halloween immer mehr gefeiert. Es gibt Halloween-Parties und die Kinder ziehen von Tür zu Tür um Süßigkeiten zu bekommen.
Unsere Tochter freute sich auf jeden Fall schon seit Wochen auf diesen Tag und war sehr aufgeregt an diesem Tag. Fast schon vergleichbar mit Weinachten.
Also this week there is a contribution from me to the 227th edition of #Beersaturday from @detlev and since last weekend was "Halloween", my contribution is of course also a bit about it.
Meanwhile, Halloween is also celebrated more and more here in Germany. There are Halloween parties and the children go from door to door to get sweets.
Our daughter was definitely looking forward to this day for weeks and was very excited on this day. Almost comparable to Christmas.
Mit unserer Tochter habe ich Vormittags angefangen das Abendessen vorzubereiten. Hier haben meine Frau und Tochter bereits verschiedene Sachen herausgesucht.
Angefangen haben wir hier mit ein paar Spinnen aus Crackern, Salzstangen und Frischkäse bzw. Erdnussbutter. Die Augen gibt es im Supermarkt und bestehen hauptsächlich aus Zucker.
With our daughter I started to prepare dinner in the morning. Here my wife and daughter have already picked out different things.
We started here with a few spiders from crackers, salt sticks and cream cheese or peanut butter. The eyes are available in the supermarket and consist mainly of sugar.
Weiter ging es dann mit ein paar gruseligen Fingern.
Die Würstchen haben wir hierzu aufgeschnitten und mit Käse gefüllt. Anschließend wurden diese in drei Teile geteilt und dann im Blätterteig eingewickelt. Als Fingernagel musste eine Mandel herhalten, bevor es dann in den Backofen ging.
Then we continued with a few spooky fingers.
We cut open the sausages for this and filled them with cheese. Then these were divided into three parts and then wrapped in puff pastry. An almond had to serve as a fingernail before it went into the oven.
Dann haben wir noch ein paar Jalapeno-Poppers und ein paar Minipizzen gemacht.
Als Nachtisch/Snack haben wir dann noch ein paar Erdbeeren mit Schokolade überzogen und auch mit Augen verziert.
Then we made some Jalapeno-Poppers and some mini pizzas.
Then for dessert/snack we covered some strawberries in chocolate and decorated them with eyes too.
Als das Halloween-Snack-Bufet dann fertig war, gesellte sich dann auch das heutige Bier dazu.
Hierbei handelt es sich um das "Till Death" der Superfreunde.
Es ist ein Altbier mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 5,5%Vol. und passt aufgrund des auffällig gestalteten Etiketts natürlich perfekt zu Halloween.
When the Halloween snack buffet was then ready, I put today's beer to it.
This is the "Till Death" of the super friends.
It is an Altbier with an alcohol content of 5.5% vol. and fits perfectly to Halloween because of the strikingly designed label.
Es ist mein erstes Bier der Superfreunde aber, wenn ich mir den Internetshop der Superfreunde ansehe, wird es bestimmt nicht mein letztes Bier sein.
Im Shop wird das "Till Death" wie folgt beschrieben:
Das SUPERFREUNDE Old School Ale ist ein fast traditionelles Altbier. Kaltgestopft mit dem amerikanischen Hopfen Chinook bekommt das Old School Ale den nötigen Wums. Nicht überhopft, keine Bitterklatsche. Ein erfrischender, fruchtiger Hauch von Citrus trifft die altbekannte harzige Note. Das Old School Ale reiht sich in die sehr trinkbare Bier-Welt der SUPERFREUNDE ein und erzählt wie gewohnt eine klare Geschichte. Alt ist jetzt neu.
It's my first Superfreunde (Super Friends) beer but, looking at the Super Friends internet store, it certainly won't be my last.
In the store, the "Till Death" is described as follows:
The SUPERFREUNDE Old School Ale is an almost traditional Altbier. Cold-stopped with the American hop Chinook, the Old School Ale gets the necessary bang. Not over-hopped, no bitter clap. A refreshing, fruity hint of citrus meets the old-school resinous note. The Old School Ale joins the very drinkable beer world of SUPERFREUNDE and, as usual, tells a clear story. Old is now new.
Das Glas für heute hat meine Tochter ausgesucht. Es passt optisch ganz gut zum Bier. Leider ist es nur aus Kunststoff, was ich nicht so toll finde.
Im Becher hat das Bier eine Altbier-typische braune Farbe und eine stabile Beige-braune Farbe.
Der Geschmack erinnert mich nicht sehr an ein Altbier. Am ersten Schluck kommt schon der Hopfen sehr gut durch. Dazu gesellt sich ein Aroma aus gerösteten Malz. Etwas fruchtiges stelle ich nicht fest.
The glass for today was chosen by my daughter. It fits visually quite well with the beer. Unfortunately, it is only made of plastic, which I do not find so great.
In the cup, the beer has an Altbier-typical brown color and a stable beige-brown color.
The taste doesn't remind me much of an Altbier. At the first sip, the hops already come through very well. This is joined by an aroma of roasted malt. Something fruity I do not detect.
Fazit zum Bier:
Das Till Death ist auf jeden Fall ein anderes Bier und ich habe es gerne getrunken. Da die 0,33-Liter Flasche jedoch 3 Euro kostet, bin ich hin und hergerissen. Für die 3 Euro oder weniger bekomme ich nämlich auch andere sehr gute Biere.
Beer Conclusion:
The Till Death is definitely a different beer and I enjoyed drinking it. However, since the 0.33 liter bottle costs 3 euros, I am torn. For the 3 euros or less I get namely other very good beers.
