In dieser Woche gibt es zum 209ten #Beersaturday, der vom @detlev ausgerufen wurde, einen kleinen Beitrag zu unserem Wochenendausflug im APX und natürlich dem anschließende Bierchen.

Das APX bzw. der Archäologische Park Xanten ist ein Open-Air-Museum in Xanten, der über der alten römischen Siedlung „Colonia Ulpia Traiana“ errichtet wurde.
Ein paar der alten Gebäude der römischen Siedler wurden hier teilweise nachgebaut.
Diesen Park habe ich schon als Kind mit der Schule besucht und er ist immer einen Ausflug wert. Für Kinder gibt es auch einen richtig schönen Spielplatz und einen Wasserspielplatz (der bedingt durch Corona derzeit nicht geöffnet hat).
The APX or the Archaeological Park Xanten is an open-air museum in Xanten, which was built over the old Roman settlement "Colonia Ulpia Traiana".
Some of the old buildings of the Roman settlers have been partially reconstructed here.
I visited this park as a child with the school and it is always worth a trip. For children there is also a really nice playground and a water playground (which is not open at the moment due to Corona).
Die römische Siedlung bestand etwa in den Jahren 100 bis 275 nach Christus und hatte rund 10.000 Einwohner. Der Hafentempel lag damals direkt am Rhein. Dieser Verlauf änderte sich jedoch in den letzten Jahrhunderten, wodurch der Rhein mittlerweile weiter entfernt ist.
The Roman settlement existed from about 100 to 275 AD and had about 10,000 inhabitants. At that time, the port temple was located directly on the Rhine. However, this course changed in recent centuries, which means that the Rhine is now further away.
In dem Park, wo noch immer Ausgrabungen stattfinden, dreht sich natürlich auch alles um den technischen Fortschritt, den die Römer damals mit an den Niederrhein gebracht haben. Hierzu zählen zum einen die Kanalisation sowie die Wasserversorgung. Teile hiervon wurden freigelegt und wieder hergestellt.
In the park, where excavations are still taking place, everything naturally also revolves around the technical progress that the Romans brought with them to the Lower Rhine at that time. These include, on the one hand, the sewerage system and the water supply. Parts of this have been uncovered and restored.
Auch die Techniken, die man damals zum Bau von Gebäuden genutzt haben werden hier gezeigt. Sei es der Nachbau von alten Kränen oder auch Gerüste um höhere Gebäude zu errichten.
Also the techniques that were used at that time for the construction of buildings are shown here. Whether it is the replica of old cranes or scaffolding to erect higher buildings.
Prunkstück im Park ist wohl das alte Amphitheater. Hier gibt es zwar keine Gladiatorenkämpfe mehr, jedoch finden hier allerhand andere Veranstaltungen statt. Das letzte mal waren wir hier vor ein paar Jahren und haben das Musical „Les Miserables“ angesehen. Open-Air in dieser Kulisse macht das echt Spaß.
Auch "Wetten-Dass" mit Thomas Gottschalk war schon hier zu Gast. Ist zwar schon etwas länger her, aber vielleicht erinnern sich noch die Jung-gebliebenen.
The showpiece of the park is probably the old amphitheater. There are no more gladiator fights here, but all kinds of other events take place here.
The last time we were here a few years ago and watched the musical "Les Miserables". Open air in this scenery is really fun.
Wohn- und Gewerbehäuser wurden auch errichtet. Hier ist eine römische Herberge und ein römisches Restaurant untergebracht. Diese sind jedoch auch im Moment nicht zugängig.
Residential and commercial buildings were also built. Here is a Roman hostel and a Roman restaurant. However, these are also not accessible at the moment.
Zurück zu Hause ging es zur Abkühlung erst einmal in den Pool. Hiernach habe ich mir dann das heutige Bierchen geschnappt und auch noch den Grill angeheizt. Für den #Beersaturday hatte ich mir ein „Ruby“ von Leffe kalt gestellt.
Das schreibt Leffe über das Ruby:
„Leffe Ruby ist ein erfrischendes Rotbier, das aus dem einzigartigen Zusammentreffen des typischen Geschmacks von Abteibier und der Feinheit der holzigen Aromen roter Früchte entstanden ist.“
Back home it went to cool down first of all in the pool. After this, I then grabbed today's little beer and also still heated the grill. For the #Beersaturday I had put me a "Ruby" from Leffe cold.
Here's what Leffe writes about the Ruby:
"Leffe Ruby is a refreshing red beer created from the unique meeting of the typical taste of abbey beer and the subtlety of the woody flavors of red fruits."
Beim Öffnen der Flasche strömt schon ein fruchtig, beeriger Duft in die Nase. Beim Einschütten habe ich eine kindliche Erinnerung an „Ahoi-Brause“. Auch die rötliche Farbe erinnert mehr an eine Brause als an ein Bier. Die pinke Schaumkrone ist ebenfalls etwas irritierend.
When opening the bottle, a fruity, berry scent already pours into the nose. When pouring into the glass, I have a childlike memory of "Ahoy-Brause". The reddish color is also more reminiscent of a fizzy drink than a beer. The pink head is also somewhat irritating.
Der Geschmack haut einen dann um. Leider jedoch in die falsche Richtung. Das Bier ist süß, süß, süß, süß, süß,……. . Dazu kommt, dass der fruchtige Geschmack wirklich an „Ahoi-Brause“ erinnert und sehr künstlich schmeckt.
The taste then blows you away. Unfortunately, however, in the wrong direction. The beer is sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet,....... . In addition, the fruity taste is really reminiscent of "Ahoy-Brause" and tastes very artificial.
Fazit:
Einem tollen Ausflug folgte leider der Beweis, dass auch die Belgier in Sachen Bier nicht alles richtig machen. Dieses „Gesöff“ kommt mir nicht mehr ins Haus.
Conclusion:
A great Trip was unfortunately followed by proof that even the Belgians don't do everything right when it comes to beer. This "swill" no longer enters my house.
