Very sunny #beersaturday today! I did a little work in the orchard but nothing special, I was listening to The World Ski Jumping Championships in Planica, Slovenia.
Our ski jumpers had a great result again, first four places! Outstanding!
Of course, I'll celebrate this :) ๐ป๐
Two beers, one Belgian, one Slovenian, first the one with the lower alcohol level.
Tektonik Bergkรถnigโs Gordon รlways India Pale Ale
It's a long name, isn't it? ๐
Brewed by Tektonik Craft Brevery, Ljubljana, Slovenia, the house brand of the Hofer grocery chain.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.9% ABV, IBU 49.7. IPA style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
With a coppery shine and a masculine head, this typical representative of its kind makes no secret of being what it is - an IPA.
It confirms its full-bloodedness with a slightly more pronounced bitterness which - as in life - goes well with any real man. And girls like it that way too. With or without a mustache.
Malted barley (Pale ale, Vienna, golden naked oats, Cara gold), hops (Columbus, Centennial, Eldorado, Mandarina Bavaria, Summit), and yeast.
Ugh, what to say here?
I'm without a mustache :)
Cloudy orange color, small but creamy foam. It has no particular smell.
The first sip goes smoothly, first, the hop bitterness dominates with citrus and fruit notes then the malt sweetness comes to the fore but not too strongly.
The bitterness lingers for a while in the aftertaste and then disappears.
Meme? Yes!
Kasteel Rouge
Brewed by Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck, Emelgem, Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33l, alcohol 8.0% ABV.
It's fruit-flavored, which means that's an ale or a lager, made with any kind of fruits, ranging from pale to very dark but still recognizable as a beer.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Kasteel Rouge is a unique blend of Kasteel Donker and and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer. The ruby red color, the firm head and the sweet start result in a special beer with a balanced taste and subtle notes of cherries. This friend of everyone tastes extra good as an aperitif on a sunny terrace. Ready for la vie en Rouge?

Dark brown with a creamy foam. It smells of cherries.
From the first sip, a fruity note dominates, a discreet sweetness of cherries overlays the bitterness of the hops, no alcohol is noticeable.
It flows very smoothly down the throat, with a brief taste of cherries in the aftertaste before disappearing.
This beer is also very drinkable and refreshing.
I'm not a fan of these fruity flavors, it's very difficult to harmonize fruit in a beer in the sense that it's not some kind of Radler or malt, but this is very well balanced.
I'd have liked to have it in the fridge, although it's hard to get here and it's quite expensive (โฌ3).
As it's very tasty, I wonder how it would end up if I drank it all evening, rather than just as an aperitif?
