Beer Tasting: Martens Gold and Ceres Mosaic IPA

Hello beer lovers! 🍻 😎 🍻

How are you? Is spring coming to you? On the sunny afternoon today, we spent almost the whole day wandering around outside.
And in the evening a beer for the 296th #beersaturday! What more could you possibly want?

I have two small beers on my table today. One Belgian, one Danish. One Pilsner and one IPA. It will be interesting.

First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Martens Gold

Brewed by Brouwerij Martens, Bocholt, Limburg, Belgium.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.6% ABV. It's Pilsener or Pils style, light-bodied, bitter German beer with a floral hop aroma.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Martens Gold is a premium beer, internationally recognized for its rich flavors and superior freshness. This Pilsener-type fermented beer is a light and fruity taste because we wanted the beer to be enjoyed by everyone.

Well, nice. Suitable for everyone and every occasion. Universal, that is.

The beer is clear golden in color, with little head but a creamy head. It has no smell.
It goes down the throat smoothly, the hop bitterness is not pronounced, the malt is not pronounced, the aroma of some herbs that I don't recognize, altogether very discreet, nothing pronounced.
There is only a slight bitterness in the aftertaste, which then quickly disappears.

Refreshing and easy to drink, but not watery. It doesn't stand out in any way, so nothing special.
It's not an excess, but it's not bad either. The price is very reasonable, €1.0. You could spend some time with it, but you could also forget it quickly. Universal, or even better standard beer, would be the best description.

Ceres Mosaic IPA (50 Shades Of IPA)

Brewed by Albani Bryggerierne (Royal Unibrew), Odense, Denmark.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.7 ABV. It's IPA style, no explanation is needed. 😎

What do the Master Brewers say?

Fresh and hoppy India Pale Ale. Brewed with generous amounts of delicate Mosaic hops and exquisite malts that combine to produce an extremely tasty and full-bodied beer.
A real thirst quencher - but not from India.

No, of course, it's not from India (did they really have to point that out?), it's a Danish IPA.

The beer is cloudy and light brown in color, the head is average and disappears quickly. Distinct hop aroma.
The sip flows smoothly down the throat, the bitterness of the hops is immediately apparent in the mouth and dominates, then another fruity bitterness develops, grapefruit, maybe dandelion, and the malty sweetness lingers in the background.
In the aftertaste, everything quickly disappears, and the hop bitterness lingers for a while.

A drinkable and refreshing IPA. Not Top of the Pop, but tasty nonetheless. Bitter as it should be, with some fruity aromas.
It's not available here, I bought it in Italy from the Coop chain in Trieste. Very good price, €1.67. And if I had to choose one for the fridge, I would choose this one.

And what am I listening to as I write this?
Something from my last #newtunes post. Ambient and meditative jazz-rock music by Rich Ruth.
