Hello beer lovers! 🍻 😎 🍻
It's raining here for the fourth day and the weather report says it'll rain for at least five more days in a row. There is nothing to do outside, although it's a good time to do some gardening.
But that doesn't surprise me, nature takes its course, the one thing in this world over which we have no control, I suppose.
Actually, it's still pretty good. I'm hanging out at Hive, with two cans in front of me, one Polish and one Lithuanian. IPA and NEIPA. Will be interesting for the 306th #beersaturday.
Brewed by Van Pur, Warszava, Masovian, Poland.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.7% ABV, 28 IBU. It's Session IPA style or ISA (India Session Ale), which means that's lower in alcohol than IPA but still hop-dominant, with fruity notes and brewed with modern American hops.
And what do the master brewers say?
Smooth and drinkable session IPA brewed with a variety of aromatic American and German hops. Hoppy and fruity in taste. Simple perfect.
Khm... It could be, but I taste once one Edelmeister Pilsener and it was awful...
The beer is clear golden in color, the head is average. The first sip goes down the throat smoothly, in the mouth I taste a slight bitterness and discreet aromas of tropical fruits and some caramel in the background.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears quickly, even the hop bitterness.
A drinkable and refreshing beer. It's still pretty okay, I wouldn't put my hand in the fire, but compared to their pilsner, which I've had and is pure horror, this is pretty decent. I wouldn't even say it's a Session IPA style but it's suggestive of something along those lines and tastes just fine.
Shall we move on or a meme?
Volfas Engelman NEIPA
Brewed by Volfas Engelman (Olvi), Kaunakiemio, Kaunas, Lithuania.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV, 35 IBU.
It's Hazy IPA or NEIPA, a kind of American IPA with intensive fruit flavors and aromas.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Our NEIPA is in no way inferior in its taste and aroma to the most famous and well-known NEIPA beers in the world. It is super fresh, and fruity and quenches thirst with an exclusive aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, pineapple, lychee, melon, and apricot.
My first experience with this brewery. I hope I'll remember it.
The beer is cloudy golden in color, the head is average. Very discreet hop aroma. It goes down the throat smoothly, the bitterness of the hops appears in the mouth at first but not too much, with shy flavors of tropical fruit and citrus, a slight hint of malt sweetness, and only the bitterness of the hops remain in the aftertaste for a while.
Yes, a solid and juicy beer, with a bit less pronounced flavors and aromas than I would have expected but OK. A decent and honest NEIPA to try, but not a superb beer to call it a star. My fridge will survive without it. I've tried better from Lithuania.
And what am I listening to as I write this?
Something from my #newtunes post. New Slovenian duo, first recording, great rock'n'roll.
RoMa Child - Supersonic Gaucho
