Beer Tasting: Aldersbacher Urhell and Ceres Extreme 10

Hello everyone! 🍻

Tropical heat continues here again. No outside work is recommended. Stay in the shade. Drink plenty of water.

Ugh, I'm doing the opposite. I've been outside all day, except between 12 and 4 pm. Wet as a kitten. First mowed the grass which is growing like crazy because of last week's rain, then cleaned the field to plant turnips where there were potatoes.
I didn't even drink any water. I just drank beer.

And I'm continuing with the beer tonight, so now that it's #beersaturday, 320 in a row.
Two cans of beer, one German and one Danish, have been chilling in the fridge and now I'm going to empty them ...

Let's go!

🍻 😎 🍻

Aldersbacher Urhell

Brewed by Brauerei Aldersbach Frhr. v. Aretin, Aldersbach, Bavaria, Germany.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.1% ABV, 18 IBU. It's Helles style, which means classical German malty lager with balanced sweetness, herbal hops, and restrained bitterness.

What do the Master Brewers say?

A clear, straw-yellow color characterizes this pale. The fine perlage forms the basis for a stable head. Light hints of straw and white bread and a discreet, finely hoppy aroma dominate the nose. A pale ale with a tangy start and a velvety finish. Blank filtered sunny yellow full beer, fine-pored foam, mildly hopped with Hallertau tradition and Hallertau pearl.

Got it in Kale Beer Box bought in the Hofer store

The beer is light and clear yellow, and the head is small, with big bubbles, but surprisingly it's very creamy. It smells malty. It goes down the throat smoothly, and in the mouth, I first taste a discreet malt sweetness that does not impose itself, then some herbs, and finally a little hop bitterness.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

A very drinkable and refreshing beer. A lager exactly as it should be and surprisingly good. The sweetness is not pronounced, nor is the bitterness. A pure classic. Unfortunately, there is only one in the Beer Box. Very suitable for the summer heat and if I were somewhere where they had it I would definitely order it.
I'm surprised because it has a very bad rating in Ratebeer. In Untappd it has a very good rating.
These two websites used to be a reference for all beer lovers. Lately, however, I am not so sure anymore ...

Finally, I found an interesting meme, well at least for me :)

Do you know who this man is? He's still holding up pretty well for 79 years old.

Let's move on!

Ceres Extreme 10

Brewed by Royal Unibrew, Faxe, Denmark.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 10.0% ABV, 35 IBU. It's a Imperial Pilsener style, clean, strong with alcohol, malty, brewed as German lagers, but with American/New World hops.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Blonde beer with a strong and vigorous taste, rich and intense aroma with hints of malt, made with the low fermentation technique, releases a strong taste and a bitter content.

I don't know, well, I'm not really a fan of such concoctions. But I'll sacrifice myself. :)

The beer is a clear golden color, with a lot of head. It smells of malt and herbs. A sip goes down the throat quickly, and in the mouth, I taste first the malt, then the bread, and the metallic and pungent taste of the alcohol, which overpowers everything.
There is very little bitterness, it comes through in the aftertaste.

I don't like it. The taste of alcohol is predominant as if it has been dosed afterwards. Very extreme, indeed. Hardcore, you might say, in music.
Certainly not suitable for this summer heat. Now I know what I don't like. But, as I said, I wanted to try this too. I mean, maybe some people like it, but I don't. And if I come across it somewhere I'll avoid it, well, maybe not in some extreme drunken situation when you don't know what you're getting into anymore :)

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to as I write this?
I'm back to standard, and I'm drawing the background music from my last #newtunes post yesterday. One shoegaze band, pronounced Bedroom.

Thank you for your attention.
